Sounds like a fuel/air mixture gone wrong there mate. What has the bike got on it modifications wise i.e. DEP full system.

Be patient mate. You gotta remember that the bike is like 10 years old and probably owned by terrible teenagers who've shown it no respect what so ever. So expect a few problems. They're good bikes, when looked after properly.

Take the seat off the bike first mate. You should see the top of the airbox. Does it have the snorkel in? Or can you see the air filter.

 

Snorkel should look like this:

 

 

 

If the snorkels still there. Take it out and go up the road. See if there's any improvement.

 

You might get away with just increasing the air flow. Sounds like it's just over fueling so giving it more air will let it run better. Otherwise needs to down jet or lower the needle. Means taking apart the carb. I'm sure there's a thread on this forum somewhere!

There had to be one!! I'd recommend the yellow ones!! I think every colour has been mentioned on the forum apart from yellow!!!

cheers mate,crackin info!-ill give it a go tomorrow!-and yeah been thinkin bout gettin a new range of bands,apparently there are gold ones out there which turn ur dt into an r1!!!-wish i could find one! apparently there was a lad on gumtree sellin a few a while back.
