Stock derestricted performance ?

Hey, Atm i got 2 stock pipes. And a Gianelli pipe. But no silencer for the gianelli pipe.

I got a DEP silencer but it doesent fit the gianelli pipe. The dep silencer fits the stock pipe. But the stock pipe is restricted and would proboably not be too good for my 170cc.

i am currently loaning a dep pipe from a friend, But im wondering. Hows the performance on a guttet standard pipe, compared to a gianelli or a dep pipe ?. Would be harsh having to spend 100 quid on a new gianelli silencer.

I got a grinder and a welding matchine, so i guess i can derestrict it myself.

Dont bother mate, nothing in them all! Gutted standard, dep, gianelli, arrow, athena etc all give out the same sort of performance just a placebo effect or if you want some *bling* looks wise. The Scalvini/scarov on the other hand is in a completely different league but i doubt you want to fork out £600 quid for an exhaust rofl.

Yeah ypu're basically paying for looks more than anything, personally i found the build quality of the Arrow better than the DEP no difference in sound/performance tho, i never got round to gutting the standard so i cant say anything from that point of view!

make the dep silencer fit the gianelli, if you can cut and weld an expansion chamber. i'm sure you can make it fit

I dont wanna ruin a perfectly good dep silencer in case i get it wrong. I got 2x standard exhaust, Wouldnt matter if i ruin one.

so what your saying is the guttet standard will be as fast as a gianelli or dep ?. cause then im gonna do it. I actually like the looks of the standard exhaust anyways.

There isn't much in them but the DEPs have always been known to rust pretty much straight away so build quality isn't great unless you keep right on it with looking after it, i got a second hand one cheap and just sprayed it up so yeah, **** rusty chrome :D

My stock derestricted pipe sucks. Good bottom end power. But crappy top end. Cant wheelie anymore xD gonna buy myself a new gianelli silencer next week

If there are two restrictions, that might be why mine sucks. Because i just removed one. But the thing inside there than could be called a restriction doesnt look like is restricting anything. So im guessing its just for the sound.

And gianelli is a aftermarket exhaust made to make the bike faster. Its not that suprising that a derestricted stock pipe isnt as fast.

A gianelli is pretty cheap tough so if you want more power just buy it. Its cheaper than the dep. and faster than the dep.

I only removed the big cat too, not that thing deeper in cuz it didn look like a restriction.
It still doesnt feel like full power, and it sux cuz i dont have any other pipe to compare with.
I believe there was increase of power but I still think there is more to get. Ive seen other people
here aswell with the same problem.
No idea rly what to do.. I dont wanna spend 200e for an aftermarket expansion chamber just to see if it gains more power.

In what gears can you pull up the frontwheel enough to wheelie?

That's been my thoughts about it too, but it's like it aint even performing like a gutted pipe should do.

I'd like to hear if someone else is experiencing the same as me, someone with a bike from 2004 and forward,
who have gutted the pipe and only removed the big cat. As NorDt found the standard to be shiet aswell compared to the gianelli....

Well I'm away til thursday next week, but I could upload a movie when accelerating
from 0 to top speed and see what you guys think when I get home
