The DT 125 was one of the most successful among Yamaha's DT motorcycles. The DT series started as the Yamaha Motor Company's answer to a lack of off-road motorcycles in the late 1960's. The "DT" is known to stand for "dirt" or "dirt-trail."
The DT 125 has enjoyed a long production life from 1968 to 2008, and within this period various editions have emerged. Some of the earlier models include the 125 LC and the 125 MX ("MX" stands for Motocross). Although primarily designed for off-road use, this particular motorcycle is also good for paved roads. For example, the 125 R was the dirt-oriented model while the 125 MX was better known as a street bike. Both are the latest DT 125 editions.
Engine
The "125" in this model's nomenclature refers to cylinder capacity, which is 124 cc. Cylinder capacity is one of several indicators for an engine's power. DT motorcycle models range from 50 to 400 cc; which makes the DT 125 a mid-powered bike. This model's engine has a single-cylinder two-stroke configuration. These characteristics give the DT 125 a balanced combination of fuel efficiency and acceleration.
Tuning
It is common practice among enthusiasts to tune or modify their motorcycles. Some appearance modifications involve adding lamp masks or changing the hand protectors. In terms of engine tuning, owners sometimes tweak the power valve system (exclusive to the 125 R edition) and carburetor to increase the bike's speed. Another common modification on the DT 125 is to change its sound. This may involve adding a silencer or playing around with the air-filter box and intake found under the seat.
Maintenance
Since the DT 125's engine is liquid cooled, be sure to always check that the coolant is not below minimum -- the tank is on the left side of the bike. On the right side, opposite the coolant tank, is the oil tank. Don't simply rely on the indicator on the handle; double-check the oil level manually. Chain tension is also important. Most experts say, if the chain can be moved around 2 cm, then it has the right tension. If often used off-road, washing is naturally going to be a regular task.
yea suppose so can i just ask a question at front on one side i have 2 stroke bottle on the other radiator and at the rear across from exhaust coolant do u put coolant in the rear or directly into rad ??? stupid question but im still new to bikes :D:D:D

Fill the expansion bottle to the maximum mark and leave it. Fill the Rad to the top and leave it, check it every once in a while so that it doesn't run dry. You CAN take off your expansion bottle and run the pipe through the frame to the ground but it's better not to.
