That looks really nice mate. Looks like a lot of time and money spent on that. What would you be looking for money wise for it?

£1500 is the minium i'm gonna take for it so if anyone on the forum wants it for that price its theres. I will be advertising it for more with ono very soon. Has to go to make way for a YZ125 for motocross and as i bought that 89 DTR the other day that will need to take its place in the shed/garage construction lol.

If you know of anyone interested in one then point them in my direction. It has had loads spent on it as i intended to and did, ride it to john ogroats and back. Wasnt going to risk anything going wrong.

The rebuild consisted of :

- Top end engine rebuild with rebored barrel, new piston kit and genuine gaskets. ( I had intended on rebuilding the bottom end too but it looked in such good condition it would have been a waste of money.)

-High compression 3MB cylinder head fitted with the combustion area, top of piston and powervalve polished to prevent build up of carbon.

(When i had the exhaust off today I looked up the bore and the cross hatchings are all still there)

- Both brake callipers rebuilt with genuine Yamaha piston and seals.

- Front brake hose replaced with Brand new HEL braided blue hose.

- Brand new tyres and innertubes fitted prior to previously mentioned trip.

-New speedo cable

- carb cleaned and jetted correctly

-Front exhaust de restricted 3MB model repainted.

- DEP performance exhaust silencer, polished

- Front forks rebuilt With new seals and re painted fork legs.

- New seat cover

- Full set of new plastics including YZ style front fender. ( headlight plastic painted as couldnt get new)

- New sticker set

- Good condition tank to match stickers

- New battery

- Full YPVS power valve system fitted and set correctly. 3 wire servo version.

- New ignition barrel with spare key

- New petrol tank locking cap with spare key

- brand new headlight unit

- New brake and clutch levers

- Suspension linkage rebuilt.

Nice.

You got an 89 DT. Ive always wante one of those. I bought my bike purely because it was there and cheap at the time. Didn't know much about dt's when I bought it. Have learned so much over the years and I think now if I could buy and build any it would be an 1989 DT :(

Well Andy. It's all because the engine is charcoal grey. Makes it 10 times more powerful.

Yeah it's just that mate. And that the year is sexy. Personally. I love the paint of the engine. I love the panels. They're really nice IMO. Love the year. I I've said that. Just so old school yet they didn't really change the shape until the re so it's still modern. That's just my opinion anyway.

But the panels or engine dont change either. You can get brand new white, blue black panels and could get or paint charcoal grey engine sides lol.
