Check the red powerband first, that's usually the culprit when losing power while greenlaning

To find anything? It gets to upto 5 6 thousand revs and sounds likes its dying and cutting out so had to hold it on revs!

Open the haynes manual to "fault diagnosis" and run through those steps first. Things to check would be,

Powervalve (take the cover off and turn the ignition, it rotate a couple of times)
Carb, it could be that its not the revs that are relevant to the issue and throttle position, meaning jetting is not right. Try reving it above 5-6krpm without turning the throttle past 1/4, let it build.

Can't be power valve if it's revving past 6k, can't be jetting either if it was working ok before lol. Could be a blocked jet or air filter if you've been off road? Or might need a new spark plug, mine's started spluttering around 6k before and it was just the plug. Id try that first.

I'd check the air filter and plug, if not then check the Red powerband

He doesnt say whether it goes passed 6krpm. He says it gets there and starts losing power. Of course it could be the powervalve. If the powervalve was malfunctioning it could be closing the port off at 6krpm and this would dramatically kill off the power. It was, after all, a Yamaha restriction on some bikes to turn it 180 degrees and pin it.

True that the jetting settings cant have changed but I meant that the pilot jet might be clear but the main jet may have dirt in, hence once it swtiches to the main at 1/4 throttle the problems arise.

Definitly start with the plug but even if that fixes it, do some checks and get to know the bike. You could replace the plug then foul it again or find a temporary fix to a bigger problem.

Yeah.

Make sure the PV is doing the cleaning cycle when powered on.

Clean Air filter
Clean Carb.
Renew fuel. (Sometimes Bad fuel can be the culprit)
Renew spark plug. I'd go with iridium personally.
