Need a rebore/tune where to send it to?

Hi guys,

jus bought a 3MB barrel and head off here. I wanted to send it away to get rebored and maybe tuned a little. Does anyone know of any good places to send it to? I was thinking about PJ Engineering looks pretty cheap, has anyone used them before who could give a review?

Thanks,

St0F

Yeah they're pretty good.

You could look at stan Stephenson. Type that in to google. They do porting and stuff. Lots of people have used them. Be interesting to see if it gives much power.

And its not a company. He's a renounded 2 stroke mechanic. He does all the work himself. He mainly works on rd350s and 750 triples now i believe. I was told he did the engine work on my rd350 before i bought it but alot of people say that stan stephens did work on their bike as his work is so good. He usually marks the stuff he does i think. For a re bore i wouldnt go to him but for porting and bottom end work he's the man to go to.

Mick Abbey & Stan Stephens are the top men.
Not sure if Stan is doing that much now - did here he was kicking back a bit.

I'm sure i read that on his website but can't see it there anymore. Did say he would be mainly taking on jobs on 750 triples and 350lc engines. Maybe he's changed his mind.

pjme do quick decent rebores or send it to lancourt, specify that it is a tuned barrel and tell them ehat u want they do all top names race stuff

road and dirt at bradford sends all his barrels there to be re worked aswell so cut out the middle man and send it str8 to them pal

Goodluck with PJ, ordered an oversized piston and they sent the wrong one

Ended up having to drive down myself and get the new one as the barrel couldn't get re bored until I had it to make sure the tolerances were perfect

Mate also had his engine rebuilt by them, now it overheats as soon as you ride down the road. I now have to strip it and look what's going on chances are it could be rad / leaking coolant somewhere but you never know what they might have done to it

PJME are good. NORFE uses them and he recommends them. He'd hardly do that if he didn't trust them.

Head / Barrel surfaces were warped. Chances are he just sent the barrel and asked for the next size up piston and re bore so they probably aren't to blame

Seem to get a lot of business so I'm sure they are fine

The warped head and cylider comes from overheating.

It's not something they'd do during the rebore. It's more likely it was warped when you sent it off.
