Just had the top end of my engine repaired, head ring rebore all of that.

I have been told to run the engine in for 500miles ,this is what i have beening doing i have done 175miles no more than 40mph.

Bike has been running sweet as a nut for weeks now,i decided to do some green laning which whats great fun,i am total knew to all of this so i was riding the bike very slowly mostly in second gear,i stalled it a good few times and fell off many times ,after 1hr the bike got hardrer to start after i stalled then i just wouldnt start at all.Had to cal the RAC they removed the plug cleaned it up and it fired up staright away and then it died again and wouldnt start, had to get lowloader to take me home.when i got home i replaced the plug straight away and the bike fired with know problems, when a run for 20mins sweet as a nut.

I have spent lots of money on this bike about £800 on bits and pieces, could anyone give me advised what to look for on the bike, why it wouldnt start.the RAC said that there was to much oil firng out the exhaust.

So you replaced the plug and it was fine? Nothing to worry about then, cos you've been riding it pretty easy the plug's got fouled up, they like to be revved these things. When I had mine rebored I only did about 100 miles or so to run it in and it was fine, but that's mainly because I'm impatient lol.

did you re torque the head nuts after a few miles could be leaky head gasket

could be  right side crank seal letting oil in and fouling the plug ? did u replace the crank seals on rebuild if so did u use the correct one as it wont run right unlus u did use the same style, i found this out thehard way

UR TOP END WILL BE FULLY RUN IN NOW.......AFTER THAT MILAGE

manufactures only specify 500 miles on a brand new complete engine people read way to much in to running in engines

you can fully run in a new top end in no time at all

only thing to remember with an engine is alsong as u get a god warm up it will be fine and trouble free

Yeah deinfitly dont wait 500 miles before checking/tightening the head. Its not an exact science and you should be just keeping a constant eye on it.
