So what you going to be doing with it?

Using it for bits, or riding it off-road?

I picked it up yesterday I will be restoring it back to original condition then taxing and moting it then selling it. It only has 2000 od miles on the clock from new so its still like a new bike.

All the hard work has been done Calum, frame tank and swinging arm have been sandblasted and 2k,d the engine has just had new mains and seals and 1st oversize piston and rings so it should not take to long. Genuine plastics, decals tyres etc and anything little things that need sorting. Its missing tail-light and fender, rear pegs and switches for the lights at a quick glance.

It had been stood in a garage unused since 91 so the mains had dried out with it being stood, he rebored it at the same time just for the sake of it. Ive had mains dry out after less than a year of being stood on a DTR before.

No mate, it looks exactly the same as when I first got it except there is no tank seat and panels on it so I could sort the loom routing out properly on it. I will take some at the weekend, I also need to remove the clutch and flywheel casings so they can have a fresh coat of paint forgot about that. Rover gunmetal grey I think Nev said was the best match.......

Managed to get the new rear fender, tail light/reg plate hanger and reg plate on today and the 4 standard indicators. Also got the front wheel off for new tyre and the forks off for the new Red gaiters im going to give them a fresh coat of Silver and lacquer while they are off might as well seals seem good no leaks. Once I get the front back on same thing with the rear wheel new tyre and swinging arm refinished. Brake callipers and carriers could also do with refinishing but i will do that last. I still need to get a few daft little bits, needs new ignition as anything will turn the original one on and it needs a front brake light switch.

Got the rack painted and on today along with the wiring loom after a few small repairs to it, also switches for the lights brake lights and a new ignition switch. Oh and the new front fender and handguards. F*****g rev counter has no wiring........ ? Something else to hold it back....! Refinished a nice standard 3MB exhaust and standard tailpipe aswell but I will put that on at the end.

Jobs left to do now, bound to be others but for now.....

Refinish clutch and flywheel casings
Get rev counter wiring
Fit new rear tyre
Remove and refinish swinging arm fit new monocross decals
Refinish brake callipers
Book mot test.

Cant see me finishing it before I go in hospital on the 18th

I aint taken any pics as I keep forgetting all the time.

Got the forks and gaiters back on this today along with the clocks headlight headlight cowl new grips and mirrors, it will be a while before it gets finished now but there is not a lot left to do when I get back on my feet. Its starting to look like a nice bike now though anyway.
