Well lads, seen a lot of you do green laning! Interested to know how ye all clean the bikes and keep it looking mint?
My bike looks like its been used for greenlaning, and I have never taken it off road! Hahaha!! The roads are so bad over here that it breaks my heart having to clean the bike so often only for it to be covered in grime and salt the next day!!
I use snow foam to clean mines mate. Gets all the nooks and crannys, only road grime on mine so it cleans it. Don't know what it would be like on mud though.
Usually use a sponge on my bike too, but it never gives it a decent finish! Seen people using power hoses on their green lane bikes before and it done a good job.... but its not good for the bike doing that cuz water can get into unwanted places! Any of the green laners ne input on that?
Yeah the jet washes i dont recommend and you've got electrics and carbs and all that shizz to work out for, i use an industrial soap which they use to clean trucks and it gets all the crap off!
+1 with ACF 50 it will help protect your babies metal bits for up to around 18months. If its just general mud and road crud wash down with water first and use a recommended general purpose bike cleaner/ degreaser. leave to soak wash away again. Just a quick note even though high powered pressure washers are good to blast out at hard to reach areas people should take care as the power from a pressure can damage rubber seals on bike parts very easily
