F**k knows when this will get done but its matching numbers and original with a pair of new tyres on it. Wont hurt to ad to the stash and the old ones are the best ones.

Nah Brad mate, it will go back on the road but it will be a while. The only bits getting sold will be the plastics.

DTR ? probably 89/90 if u want power. 1980 DT175MX is my favourite DT but it was the first decent bike I ever had when I was at school. Also the first bike I ever fully restored identical to the one I had when I was a kid, I said I would never sell it but did and regretted it ever since.

Not long really about a month, I bought all the bits before I bought the bike, then just waited for the right bike to come along.

Picked it up yesterday and it fired up with a few kicks with fresh petrol in it, couldn't believe it as the ebay seller said it had not been used for 3 years, sounds the biz as well but the clutch is a bit sticky.

A quick update on this one aswell, the bike itself is still exactly as it is in the first pictures. I have been collecting parts for it though as I cant do much actual work for now.

Anyway I have collected most of the main stuff for it for now listed bellow.

Full set of genuine plastics, except side panels are from Portugal as the left rear is nla from Yamaha these days, so is the right tank panel but I had a brand new one in my plastics stash.

Full set of genuine 90 model decals except the left rear side panel, I will get a mirror image of the opposite side made up so its not a problem.

Used vgc clocks tail-light headlight indicators lights switches numberplate hanger sidestand and spring.

I will need a few daft little things when it comes to building it back up in the future like the ignition switch brake light switches battery etc, the loom is still on it uncut and tucked in the battery box so that's a bonus.

Got the last thing I was missing for this one now, one of the side panel decals off ebay the other day. Only been looking for a year.

Its a bit of an obsession of mine trying to find old decals for future projects when you have sat in the house for a year doing nowt like I have its stopped me from going mad I suppose, some might say ive already gone mad lol....... Anyway ive got a few full sets of genuine Yamaha decals now. A full set except the rear side panel ones for the 1990 black/green bike and all but one for the 1990 Red bike. A full set for the 1989 Black/Sky Blue bike that ive put on new genuine panels. Got a full set of decals not on panels for the Black 91 92 and 93 and a full set for a Blue and White 97/98 on brand new genuine panels, got every panel for this. Thats enough of that now, no doubt your bored to death. I might put them all on period bikes in the future but I will probably end up selling them all.

Im finding that graphics are harder to source than just about anything else... I did a family heirloom (cb400n superdream) it was my dads bike until 1991, stored until 1995 then it was mine, I started to restore in 2002 (engine rebuild to new was only 1 month) by 2008 when i gave it back to my dad on his 60th. i was finished, but couldnt find the graphics, so i eventually painted the stripes and colours manually just before handover... not somthing to take on lightly...
