They started recording from 2006 if memory serves me correctly. My bike wasn't MOT'd between 2006 and 2007. Was then MOT'd in 2008 with under 1,000 miles. And then that owner must have loved it because they put 2,000 miles on the clock within a year.

I haven't even worked out how many miles I've put on mine. Spent more months off the road than on the road last year though.

Admitably less now than before but I used to rack up like 1000 miles a month when I had my 50cc. Would just be out all the time everywhere. I do miss those days. Riding around with your mates at god knows what time in the morning. Freezing your sacks off haha!

Looks like this one is going to start its MOT records at 11k miles, previous recorded keeper on the logbook got it in 2004 so it must have last been on the road in 04/05. Anyway it don't matter 2 much now I don't think, it will stroll through the MOT when I take it anyway lol...........

The oil pump already on it? Or you source other ones? Are they brand new or used oil pumps? Think a few of the members on here have had problems with oil pumps, myself included.

Oil pump was already on it and working, I have never had a problem with an oil pump on any DT ever they are very reliable. The only thing I can think of that could affect one that's not been messed with is not bleeding it properly after a rebuild.

The only reason mine is off is because I couldn't get it set up properly. And on tuned barrels apparently you're not suppose to have them on.

I never touched my pump or disconnected it to need bleeding. Always had oil in etc. Just packed in whilst at 60MPH on country lanes, demolishing the topend and killing the bearings in the bottom end. :(

Have you switched to the 88 through 98 throttle/oil pump cable Cal, you will never get it right with the 99 on cable.

Hah, yup. I personally think it was partly down to past bad owners. Bike had problems everywhere, bodged here there and everywhere. All sorted now though. biggrin

Rear light, numberplate and rear indicators on today. Need to check the loom out and fit it up with the rest of the electrics and that's virtually it. Biggest job left to do is 2000 the tank and 2K lacquer it just to bring it back to a fresh look to match the nos plastics.

Handlebars are on along with the throttle, lights switches, new grips and front brake cylinder. Loom is on and all wired up after a few small repairs to it for the taillight and rear indicators, fenders are on front and rear along with the rear pegs and side stand. It looks like a bike now, few bits that I need to order like a new chain, battery, speedo cable. Also needs front n rear brake light switches but I might have them kicking about somewhere.

Do you replace the chain and sprockets at the same time?

No Luke just the chain, the sprockets were sound as a pound with no signs of wear at all they look pretty new so no need to change them, the chain was a different matter all together even though it was probably fitted at the same time as the sprockets it was seized and rusted with lack of use and lack of chain lube.

This thing will probably be MOT,d by next Friday if the last little few bits arrive by next midweek.

All finished except the tank, new speedo cable is on now along with the headlight and brand new headlight cowl, new battery and new horn, new chain. The chain guard and lower chain guard. All that's left is to fit the new panels and seat when the tank is finished, oh I forgot the rack and exhaust there is always something else to do. Brand new stainless socket cap allen screws everywhere holding the thing together they are not original but look very smart and wont ever rust.
