Mines been messed around with too.

The screws and bolts have all been over-tightened, the bloody carbs been messed around with, don't even know if the oil mixture is correct.

Previous owners a twat.

Anyway, I'll have the carb sorted soon and cleaned out, ordered a #240 main jet.

I'm pretty sure you would know if it had stage three tune mate. It would rev like a mofo and be absolutely off rhe cuff everywhere. You would be well chuffed about it.

But not a clever thing to do on a worn bottom end. If the bottom end was freshly built. Ran in on a standard top end then the tuned cylinder on it would be a monster lol. Amd would last forever if properly maintained.

Be nice if yours is stage 3 tuned mate.

But i thought you've chaned cylinders x amount of times. So it wont be the tuned cylinder.

You would be anle to tell just from looking at it whether or bot its been tunes.

not changed the cylinder had it rebored alot ,and it is off the cuff everywhere thats why ive never used the servo i tried re connecting it when i first gotit but it wanted it off lol it has a mind of its own ,bottom end has been rebuilt ,i really dont want a stage 3 tune mate simply because i rag the **** outta it and i think that tuning an everyday bike is a bit silly so really will be looking at binning the whole engine as im still unsure as to whether the bottoms been messed with then again if i go to standard i imagine it will be ****e as this bike really does go like stink and im 100% it will do over a ton its just finding somone to take care of irt as all this tuning is delicate stuff ,i may even take it to this stan geezer and have him get it correct as surely if it was in a tzr all of the gearing will be different and the carb will be different .

if i get another engine this one will be up for sale here il post all the pics and people can look if its been tuned i really don't know the guy could be talkin **** but all i know is it hasnt ever had a problem keeping up with anything even mymates hornet ask logikz ,when ive raced with matt bear in mind hes got a restrictor on the bike i chase him all the way up to around 90 then he will pick up and lead the way to around 110 but more road and this thing will keep going i know it ive put it on standard gearing now we have to all get a little meet up somewhere and il show you how weird the thing is hahah

yeah the screws on the carbs to dake some wear over time most are damaged screws in most cases if there stuck and batterd if poss use a haxsaw blade to cut a new gruve in em .

so you cleand that carb then ? what kind of clean did you give it just a wipe in the bowl or clean throu every jet and hole and if so how .. I use compress air and guitar string strands to clean well out ..

also have removed everything that burns and sat the carb on the cooker flame shoking to see the varnish pettrol left overs bubble out

If you guve stan a call with engine numbers he will be able to verify if he carried out work on it...friend had race tuned tzr yrs ago, and they said all engines are recorded to verify work carried...stops people bull****ting aboutvwork carried out

Yeah its fine having a tuned bike for everyday use. You just have to increase the maintenance on it.

But yeah not good if you rag the tits off it everywhere lol. Better off with a standard DT. Lol.

Yeah if this is the case then other dt's are going to be a bit poo! But that said they will be more reliable. And most importantly. Faster than any four stroke 125 lol. Especially that adrenaline pulse lol.

Well it cant be tzr head and barrel as they have different mountings... so engine prob hasnt come from race tuned tzr, if it has then everything been changed not just cases

i want fast but im more in favour of reliability as last year i got i think 6 points and a fine for doing 60 in a 30 lol i know thats possible on any machine but with this its more tempting like if you had a m3 compared to corsa lol ,cheers for that info dread but like i said ive had to change the side casing due to snapped bolt on intake side again due to letting friends help me out lol s far my mate dave has cost me a tank and engine case hahah

I didn't clean it, just checked the jet size and put it back together. And then placed in back in the shed.

I'll clean it tomorrow.

Hence the importance to check the engine and frame numbers against the logbook.
There are so many DT`s that are out there without matching engine & frame numbers

Like said you can have a tuned dt run as reliable as a normal dt.

Just increased the maintenance on it and stop thrashing it.

My dt can be pinned absolutely everywhere because it still has the rev limiter restriction on it. So i know its not actually revving its tits off. But ive always ran it on sound oil. And warmed it up.

When you get your bike back just restrict it a little via Yamaha's mods. And you'll be alright.

Or just look after it properly.

or i give it to you for regular maintenance? sounds like a plan to me! lol ,yea i will im getting a bit scared with this guy at elderfields hes really reluctant to strip it ,ive said to him i just want it fixed and to stop the chronic air leaks il run premix now a pain in the ****ter but will save me a fair bit afterall this whole bike including purchase owes me just under 3,500 so im getting kinda pissed off with it now haha

Premix is very risky. You need one of them mixing bottles from a mini moto or something similar, and get the mixture correct and you have to shake / rock the bike at the petrol station to mix the oil around, or you'll be running it on nothing but unleaded, and the oil will remain at the top of the tank.

A right pain in the arse, not worth it for a bike you're commuting on.

Depending on age, if you're 19 or over, you can get a 400CC, so nail your full test and get a 400CC and it'll always be quicker than your 125CC, even if you got a 4-stroke.

I think it's 19 that you can get a 400CC-500CC. I want a GSX-R 400CC at 19. :D

if you know how to ride, you'll be able to keep with the 600s and take over in the twisties!
