I had a cr80 was easy to start, but boggy as hell but I had a piece of the petal missing. Worth a check anyway. You can turn them around if there is a gap, remember to locktite the screws back in

Worth a check, I'll provide loads of photos etc, as I say, the reeds checking will be my last resort as my dads fed up with me using his tools to strip it to bits, lol.

His already complaining about the screws and bolts going to break from it being stripped so much, but if it fixes it, oh well.

Can't seem to find any pictures of this Snorkel to see what it looks like. Anyone got any pictures of one? Tried searching on the site and Google, nothing. Google has all different pictures so it's hard to narrow down which is which. :/

Same problem, still only revving to 7K RPMs.

Still sluggish, still no power. Dropping it off to a mechanic tomorrow.

Can't see from the photo. But the YEIS goes into the inlet manifold?

Try applying a little bit of tape over that gap. Restrict the air flow a little. Then run it.

Well, some dick has been messing around with the carb big time. Just set the air screw properly, running better although still only revving to 7K.

Asked on another forum, it's probably the coil they said, or the bottom end is going.

Boom, problem sourced.

"If the baffle was clogged up, it would very likely be obvious. But now and then people use baffle packing in pipes that aren't meant to have it etc. If you removed the baffle and just went up and down the road, it would be immediately obvious if the motor revved freely and the problem would be pinpointed.

The fact that the bike needed a rebore could just be down to normal wear. Or it could be that you have an air leak at the flywheel side crank seal, weaking the mixture, causing the bike to run hot, scoring up the bore, causing a loss of power. The plug should give a strong indication of how the motor is running - please post a picture of it, if possible.

If the ignition coil is duff, the bike would start fine but you wouldn't be able to rev cleanly or get anywhere near the power. Pretty much as is happening... You need a multimeter to check the output of the coil to see if it's within the correct range."

Make sure the metal reed stoppers are about 11-12mm away from the block too.

Checked the reeds, they're perfectly fine.

Someone said they doubted it was the silencer part, pulled it off, cleaned it and now the thing is flying off the handle. Problem solved!

Also, the little piping and sound proof wadding in the silencer, will it do damage running it without it? (Full DEP system)

If you have no proper zaust packing wadding you can use loft insulation

it'll be a lot louder and the back pressure wont be right (you'll run out of steam in headwinds and up hills) shouldn't do it any harm though biggrin

But will running the bike without it do any damage to my engine?

If not, I can wait for the instulation. The little pipe thing is out too. I guess this will only affect the overall speed?

Yup, still taking it to a mechanic on Wednesday though, to make sure the carb is all set up correctly, because the previous owner has done a bodge of it.

I saw a red and white DT today, couldn't catch up I went in the wrong lane, he was long gone I wanted to see if he was a member on here. I'm in Leicester, I spotted him on the way to town from Saffron Lane area.
