Its never good , but does remind us or should , that defensive riding is the only riding we should do on the open roads , save the rest for track days and even then the b---ards are out to get us

bang on mate , i prefer enjoying my riding doing slow stuff anyway like off road, still fun but no cars to hit.
know the feeling pal been in the pub with people one night then they gone the next day . hard to get your head round but such is life we will all see people come and go in the blink of a eye .
copied from another site but do love this poem
Life is an uncertain journey
Never knowing whats around the next bend
Never realizing what difference one second can make

Its not the cars !! its not the bikes !! its the people sat in or on them that cause the problem , there are good drivers , there are bad drivers , there are good riders ,there are bad riders , then there is the luck of the draw , there is fate , all we can do is calculate the hazard minimize the risk and hope it is not our turn
Had the Devon Air Ambulance hovering about 60ft above me today, looking for somewhere to land, some poor lad had mashed himself up, I know the road very well, it's about 100 yds as the crow flies. the car will have pulled out on him, he'll have just opened it up coming out of a corner there. Fingers crossed for the lad mind, no news as yet.
Sad news Nath condolences to you & his family. Its only when somethink happens likes this that we kinda take a step back & and see that it can very easily be anyone of us that can happen to out there as we are so vunerable on our 2 wheeled pride & joys.
Sorry for your loss Nathladd, hit home today when what you must be feeling, when I heard my mate totalled his R1 this morning. Thankfully he walked away, he is a fecking loon so I always feared the inevatible, thankfully only the bike was lost. I really hope it taught him a lesson.
To this... I don't waste my time telling him he needed to take it easy even though I knew he had to. I would only be ignored but thankfully this was the only damage done this morning when he said the rear locked up on a down shift on one of our notorios B roads.
The thing is on bikes, you get to confident like my mate obviously was, same with me a while a back, It's not till you are flying through the air and skidding along the ground that you learn how stupid you have been, as you watch your bike sparking grinding it's way down the road, and that's if you are one of the lucky ones!
Aye true, it's not just bad drivers either, pot holes in the roads are looking bad these days, around this way anyroad, once came off at an island, camber in the road was wrong, bike went from underneath me, and a mini missed my head by inches, as I tell my lad you will have an off, it's a case of wearing the right gear when you do
The amount of times at night when i lived down south that feckin cow **** has nearly had me off and theres either been traffic behind me or coming towards me like you nev i nearly had me head took off the same scarey as it happens so quick when the bike goes from underneath ya
