At the moment I am waiting for my er6 to be prepped for me in the bike shop... should have it by next weekend!!
I was fairly worried about driving it back from the shop seeing as I have never ridden a bike above 125cc and never drove a 4-stroke either (My previous bikes have been Yamaha TZR 75cc, Gilera Runner 125 & Yamaha TDR 125). SO I decided that I would take my dads yzf750 out for a spin to get to grips with the big bike 4-stroke power! If I could handle that I could easily handle the er6!
I have to say, it was the most fun I have ever had on a bike! I don't know what I was worried about.... The power is so fookin addictive! Once I took off and clicked it up to third gear I got confident that I was able for it, I had a lap or two of the estate going slow (the main thing I found dificult was banking into tight corners as the thing is heavy as FOOK) by my third time around I gunned it coming out of a bend and got it up to 4th with the biggest grin on my face! My adrenaline was pumping big time (and still is ), not to mention the sound as you wind open the throttle *goosebumps*. Done a good few more laps and then went onto the main road for a proper taste of the power! Although I didn't hammer it or go that far because I don't have the license for it and I'm not insured! But all I know now is that I am 100% confident with bringing the new bike home.
For anyone in a similar situation as me ie. upgrading to a bigger bike, thinking of it or just plain worried about driving one, it really is not difficult and there's nothing to worry about. The main thing is the wrist control, the slightest bit of throttle is all you need along with a gentle release of the clutch. Once your moving it'll come naturally. The only problem I have now is I don't want a er6 now.... I want a r6 or something! haha!

Yeah its crazy man.... I had the misconception that it was gunna be like a caged animal, but everything is smooth and controllable. The one thing that will take gettin used to is the weight of the bike when banking into corners (used to get the toe down on the TDR). I won't be able to get off the er6 when I get it so I should be fully confident on it after a few days! Just in time for summer as well... lets hope its a good one!!
Nah I'll just bring the 'shredded jeans look' back into fashion! haha! I really do have to get myself a proper pair of leathers though! Been rocking around in jeans and trainers for too long! haha! soles and toes of all my trainers are torn to pieces! Big dirty gear lever mark on my left one too!
it just takes getting used to in the corners m8 mine felt heavy to start with , just get your ass hanging off the seat in the direction of the corner an smash the bars in the opposite direction off the corner ,,,,countersteer,,, an itll fall round the corners lovley
Sunny days??? Don't get many of those things over here! haha!! Yeah looking forward to getting my own beast now.... this week is gunna fookin DRAG in!!! Bus to college for the week and all...
