Cheers guys! Test? I never passed any test! haha! I've got an Irish learner permit! The bike is restricted to 33hp via a throttle stop and all I needed other than that, to get insured, was a cert from the bike shop to say that it was installed there!  Still has all the grunt of a full powered bike, just doesn't have the top-end speed.  I do have to do 18hrs of training in two months time though cuz my old license expires and there's a lot of new rules after coming in here since 2013! Gunna be fairly expensive to do! evileye

Yeah Ireland has been behind all of Europe with the licensing laws up until January this year when they have introduced IBT (Initial Basic Training) which consists of 5 training modules and a new license category (A2).  When I got my license 3 years ago all I had to do was a 20 minute computer test with 40 questions and then when I passed that send it off and apply for the license, and out on the road I was! No training, no tests! hahaha! Since the new law has been introduced though I now have to do the IBT because I never done any before! Will cost me about 600euro now to get a new license and do the training! At the end of all of that I will have a provisional A2 license, which means I can drive any bike up to 33kws (roughly 46-47hp), but I still can't (legally wink) drive on the motorways until I pass the driving test to get my full license!

We also don't have to use "L" plates and no MOT or anything like that! haha!!! Although they are trying to enforce Hi-Viz vests with the "L" plate on the back of it as mandotory for anyone without a full license! And there has been talks of bringing in an MOT similar to yours for some years now..... But alas nothing has came up yet! Luckily for us! biggrin  Has been a joke here for a long time, but they are starting to catch up with the rest of Europe now.... only bad thing with that is they have seen that they can make a fortune off of bikers by screwing them with expensive mandatory training! Would be understandable if it was at a reasonable price, but in total it will cost between 1300-1500 to do all modules (I only have to do modules 1,3,5 until I'm 24)! Will scare loads of people away from driving bikes in this country! no

Absolutely over the moon! Only got her home there about an hour ago! It is an absolute joy to ride! Feels real light and nimble, I barely even noticed a difference in weight between the TDR and that! Really flickable going into tight bends and the power is amazing! Nice bit of stomp out of it, but still not too much that I can't handle! I took to it very quickly and had a nice 20mile drive home! Enjoyed every second of it!  The main difference I noticed was the heat coming off the engine..... me legs were fookin roasted! haha!! Here's a piccy! wink

That was just as I came home... I've since taken off the handles and backbox holder but didn't get a chance to take a pic as I badly need to start studying for my exam tmz! hmm  Will get a few more of it tomorrow!
