Well it's been a year or so ago since I last stripped and clean the dt and she's starting to look a bit sorry for her self so yesterday while I had the time I made a start on the old girl
this is how it was at the start
And so the strip began
engine out :)
rusty swing arm off
was in a bit of a state so wire brushed / sanded it painted black
dint get many pics after this but frame was painted white, engine cleaned an refitted, new front and rear pads fitted, new front and rear wheel bearings fittled, new plug, oil, very busy past 2 days all in all but the out come it worth the graft
this is how it stands at the moment
still have new chain and sprokets to fit, new fork seals, new tail tidy (when it arrives) plus few other little bits and bobs
but it might all be done for someone else to enjoy as once done shes going up for sale as im thinking of going back to a gilera runner :D
I have a cap i use for oil (not sure of amount it holds) but i use 1 cap for every £1 petrol plus 1 extra so for £5 6 cap ect not much help to you but thats how i do it haha
and the last dt i had the oil pump failed an ended up needing new top end so taking no chances this time round
Better to use a mixing bottle from mini motos, get the correct amount in, then blaze, got to shake it at the petrol pumps though. Right pain in the backside, I just check my fuel pump every now and then, to make sure its working correctly. Mines running rich, needs the oil pump setting up, I guess.
