I've sent it back. It's faulty. I ordered it through Yamaha.

As said. Borut is ace. He's already arranged to have it fixed. But it's annoying cause initially i was told it was just not mapped. So bought a programmer. Only then to be told that it's faulty.

What's the point in buying a programmer when the cdi is supposed to be already programmed for the bike? They come preprogrammed so there is no need to mess with it.

I bought the zeeltronic through my local garage. But it was faulty so i took it back to be replaced.

Think Cal is the DE06. its an RE model 2004 onwards. But he's putting the 4DL engine in soon. Do you need different Zeeltronics for different generators?

You need differend Zeeltronic CDI's because DE06 Generator has two charging coils , one for low and one for high revs.

For the older Models 4BL and DE03 with only one charging coil u need a other cdi because spark may get to weak....

I hope you will get ur cdi back soon!

Borut shipped mine on friday... normaly his shipping takes not a week from slovenia to germany... its really fast...

Im exidet to try the FMF Pipe and my new back wheel ;)

Ah right. Never knew they were that different. Is there a benefit to the 2 coils of the DE06? I'm going to be buying a Zeel for my 350 YPVS in a few months. Very excited about that. I will also get one for my WR200 at some point I expect. I have just bought a Cagiva W8 125 which also uses a servo controlled powervalve. I wonder if he can do a Zeel for that.

Yeah you have a benifit.... There is (if im right 2x) so mutch power thats generated (4BL 40W DE06 90W) but im not sure..... The first charging coil have a high voltage at low revs and gets weaker with higher revs...

The other one is exactly different...Weak at low and powerfull at high rev. So i think you have a really better power balace and more ampere at idle speed..... I can realy give you the hint to use the DE06 generator....

I hope i will recive my new WR 200 engine fast...

Ah no! Well i expect it didnt go as badly as mine. I had £265 stolen by the "seller" when i tried to buy a WR200 engine!

Moving the needle up made a big difference by the sound of it. I still have the mikuni carb here if you want it? £20 plus postage.

Good luck with the set up. Will keep watching out for updates!

No im glad that i lost no money... the engine i wanted to buy was repaired in a workshop... And the owner had no money to pay the reparation. The workshop has now a dispute with ne owner because he wants more money for the engine.

I now going to make the stinger from 23mm inside diameter to 25mm inside diameter this should help the peak power. I will get an exhaust from a Cagiva Mito with 28mm inside diameter.

Middle of Feburary im going to let messure the power of my project ;) (HP)

Very interesting!
I had done a glance around ebay before my dtr rebuild looking for a dt/wr 200 barrel and head, to see if it would fit and what I could do with it... didnt really know what year to go for, or how much I could bore the 200 into, was also wondering how much strain and punishment the dtr block/gubbins can take with that much cubic straining it... another option Im considering is a different sprocket set, for less speed and more low down pull, Ill try it as is for now.. I dont want to mess with gearing... (done that before yrs ago huge job getting bits machined)
I almost bought a 70's dt400 about 22bhp before looking at the dtr specs, and seeing the extra cc gains nothing I can see...

Ill see how she runs when rebuilt before tweeking things, I did see a xr650 motor on ebay, a glance at the grinder and welder...the electrics.... but the work... naaa

Im interested to see how swatmugga's DT200r runs... well done swatmugga for taking the project on...

You'll be lucky to find a 3xp barrel. Very rarely come up and fetch a pretty penny when they do. The 3xp barrel is also nikasil plated so you'd be looking at 350-400 quid if your talking about boring it out and replating it?

Whats wrong with yours at the moment? just want more low down power? I assume you have the full powervalve set up and set up correctly. Swatmugga has highly reccommended the zeeltronic ignition and powervalve controller which may be of interest to you. If you're really interested in more power/ larger engine then you'd be better off buying a full WR200 when one comes up on ebay. You can buy the full bike for anything from 500 - 1500 depending on condition and its got much better specs than a DT125R. They sell cheap compared to the dt125 because of the learner legal laws. They get leapfrogged when people pass their test.

I bought one in parts for £120 a few years ago. I've still to get around to getting it on the road but thats my intention.

Oh and if anyone offers you a full rebuilt wr200 engine from the manchester/humberside area then avoid like the plague! :P

sound advise andyYam,

Yea I bought this DTr for a hobby and a challenge, went for a song, siezed right up(head gasket went).. 8months of rain in the crankcase(oil cap nicked), but all there, never crashed, and 1 very very cautious none mechanic owner from new... (used it to avoid city traffic) even serviced by yam since new, and at some time the engine was tweeked with better piston etc, all the powervalve electrics in order etc... now its almost finished (waiting on a little end bearing and oil cap) will use it of a bit of commuting (cheaper than running my hornet and avoids the terrible car traffic here) + the offroad stuff im looking forward to...
I'll run it and perhaps tweek things if they need it, bought it for fun mainly and get my lad practiced on an adult sized bike and lean some engineering on the way... as hes 16 soon...
manchester/humberside?? got it!

Had a good look through. The translation is great although obviously it still doesnt translate perfectly. Do you mind me asking how much the wr engine cost? Looks in fantastic condition! Is the cylinder bore steel sleeved? Or still nikasil plated? I didnt think nikasil plating should be honed ( ground) and so shouldnt have cross hatching ( cross-cut).
