Well managed to get down to bike and do some work on it today, continued to strip it down for powder coating. then It came to the point of removing the suspension linkage from the frame, Jesus Christ took over an hour with a club hammer, 1x 12" half inch extension and a punch are now toast and the offending bolt, had to use heat and still had to club it to death. here's a couple of pics.

Heres the offending bolt

And it bent making it a right **** to get out as socket no longer fitted over

Just took delivery of a new fangled copper grease at work biggrin, impregnated with Teflon and in a aerosol. on the standard copper grease front are you aware its carcinogenic so you should wear gloves or some kind of protection on your dipping finger. wink

To tell you the truth aint had the calliper on yet but it fits in the carrier fine, I think mine might be the same but there are differences in the rs years in the wheels.

Iirc wen i trial fitted the 5 spoke rs rear wheel to mine the disc was spot on dia wise. I just had to make custom spacers to get the wheel centered, i never fitted the caliper but i did slot the brake pads in and they covered the disc perfect. Same as the dt rear wheel + disc. Think i had to shorten the spacer between the carrier and wheel to get the disc in the center of the carrier too.

Yeah I got a shortened one made for the disk side and a new larger one made for the sprocket side.

I use the engineering company I use for work, he is a good lad and I return the favours when he has machine problems, any engineering company will knock them up for you.

MMM I wonder who that could be, hope you asked for cash and not paid in kind lol. My wheels off so I have no problem measuring them and posting sizes but there has to be engineering shops in london, that bald guy and his Indian friend use them in chop shop after all. Also my spacers wont fit on the later rs wheels.

Lol his lipsticks always out, Just been hit with a £600 bill for 5 months of problems with his elbow, I thought the insurance was paying it until they sent a letter saying he was not covered as i said 5 months after treatment started. I reckon its cost me about 1K so far in damages in the house so far but he is getting better, that pic is a few months old and he is 1 next month.

How did you mesure yours to get the spacers made up ?

put wheel on with original spacers and see what happens, on mine disk side was too big so pushed rear brake mount into disk, so measured by how much and then deduct that from that side spacer, on the sprocket side was too small so measured by how much and add that to that sides spacer then use the same OD and ID sizes of the originals,(outside diameter and inside diameter), done with a small 150mm steel rule.

alrigh i see, they are deffinitally going to need some work as the dt bearings sit into the wheel when on my wheels they are just on a line with the hub, im not getting to the spacers just yet as the rear disk has not arrived yet, stupid aj sutton shouldhave paid that extra 5 quid and wouldhave had it straight away instead of waiting up to 14 days they say ;/ . but if the disc wnt fit i would have to get a different calliper to fit onto the 180mm disk so different spacers would be required

Well the newer style shock arrived today, the only differences I can see is its slightly shorter and thinner and the top mount width is wider, nothing a grinder wont correct if need be.

Well change of tack boys, I am going to break this up as I am going to buy another 4x4 and cant afford both really and the 4x4 will get more use, plus the money I will plough in getting it the way I want it on top of what Ive spent plus the man hours to finish its prob better to sell in bits now as its in bits, will photograph all up and advertise here and ebay, prob be a week before I get everything sorted.
