I've got very similar wheels on my bike.

For me I needed access to a cnc lathe and a bunch of other specialist hardware.

Dtr's are road legal anyway.

To be fair. If you're going to go all out have a look at supermotoing a YZ125 road legal that. Be much more of an interesting project.

Mate a YZ125 are very reliable if you ride them sensible enough.

Just like any other bike apart from rapid!

Hehe nah kidding Calcium, but compared to a DT they're crap for reliability, even Norfe has said this. You'll maybe get 80-100 hours on a piston, if it's geared and setup correctly for the road.

Lol course enny. If you ride it like a normal bike then why wouldn't it.

Loads of air keeping it cool. Jetted properly and ridden sensibly then why wouldn't it

That said. Ride it lile you then maybe not. But me it would be Fine

Lol Cal.....

Then what would be the point in getting a MX bike for the road in the first place, if you're going to ride it "sensibly"?

I just don't see the point in buying a MX bike for the road, setting it up correctly, then de-tuning it just to make it ride-able on the road?

The bike has been designed to have it's neck strangled. Not for cruising around lol...

And hehe yeah true dat! biggrinwink

I didn't say detune it. I just said don't kill it.

I'm only saying this because in a few months the addition of a road legal supermoto YZ will join the garage.

You'll need to make sure that if you are using DTR forks, that the bearings on the Cagiva wheels fit the DTR spindles, 20mm rear DTR wheel/swingarm 15mm front DTR wheel/forks.

i will be using dtr forks..once i find some cheap ones- i shall get on it -if bearings dont fit then i suppose shouldnt be too hard to get correct ones? Cal you've done the brake mod so will be coming your way for advice.

Not really to my taste, I'm very fussy when it comes to DT styling though, but to each their own.

Judging it on just the wheels they don't look too bad, but I think there's better options available for you out there, try something new?!

what other wheels you reckon? not keen on spoked wheels..was thinking mito as there are plenty about- and i really dont want the bike off the road this spring/summer too long- fitting in around work and family life will be pretty tight.

open to suggestions though :p

I personally really like spoked wheels if they're all nice and stainless.

I understand what you're saying though and the Caggy wheels do seem an easy mod that wouldn't take much time off your hands, few little mods at the engineers then whack them on with spacers, job jobbed!

I know what you mean about having your baby off the road, mine's been in the garage for the past 3 months :(

I do like those Gilera wheels that one of the Porto lads used, but then again think about cleaning...how easy would it be to clean those Caggy wheels?! Haha! I'll keep a look out for anything that might suite you matey.

Me personally. I prefer spoked wheels over alloy wheels.

But that said I like them cagiva wheels.

The only wheels you can get that go straight on other than DTX mild steel spoked are the TDR Italia stainless spoked wheels, as are on my Black /Green bike, and it has to be the 93 (3SH) wheels as the spindle size goes to 12mm on the front on all other TDR and TZR wheels whether 3 spoked or multi spoked, I'm having trouble getting bearings for the Hybrid as I can find a bearing I/D of 15mm but the O/D is too big for the wheel, hence having the wheel milled out to take the bearing.
