I'd try playing around with the wires. If the wires are wrong, it just doesn't work. Won't blow the fuse unless you let live wires hit the frame. With that tail tidy the only colour that matches the DT's loom is the negative (black) there is only three wires including the negative if memory serves me correctly. Try swapping them around.

Bit harsh Victor. He's only trying to help.

Electrica are just a nightmare and that would literally be my advise. Just play around with it.

Update: Been really behind with this, but I have started using it over the last week. Fixed the rear light, found a short at the rear brake switch also put a new top end on it wink

Finding It hard to get hold of new/decent seat/ front mudguard hmm

Got a few little things to sort still though, could do with a new clutch I think and the kill switch plays up sometime's so I have been trying to use the keys only.

Also still need to spray up the exhaust and engine casing's but I'm doing that today and tomorrow, going to paint the Yamaha letters red then put some lacquer on

Went for a hoon yesterday evening, first time I've pinned any corner's on it and I found it so weird. Nothing like any of sports bike's Iv'e had lol anybody else find them self sitting on the tank while pinning corners lol

Did this today going to finish it later.

p.s anybody got that powervavle housing cap in my picture missing? and the engine mount bolt/nut that is just under the swing arm bolt/nut?

Looking nice mate. Personally, I'd just get a supermoto mudguard off of eBay. Looks a lot better on a SM IMO.

As for the missing engine bolt, find out what bolt it is and just whack a stainless allen with a bolt on the end on. :)

I might just do that Luke, what one do you have?

Finished painting the flywheel cover, still waiting on the clutch cover to dry so i can paint the letter's and lacquer it.

Messed up the letter in a few place's should of invested in a better brush, I'm pretty pleased with the result's.

The lacquer needs 24 hour's to dry so probably won't fit them till the morning, lucky it's a bank holiday biggrin

I used hammerite smooth grey on the casing's(I always wonder what paint people have used on their project's, and nobody ever mention's it).

I use Ford Stratos Silver on Silver cases and Rover Gunmetal Grey on the early type, Nev put me onto the Grey and its spot on. I use petrol proof flick can lacquer or 2k lacquer as flick can lacquer just goes soft within seconds of petrol touching it and then its ruined. They look spot on by the way.

Took the bike round some lovely corner's today, those nasty chicken strip's are starting to wear down(Also had it off the clock down a hill on the a12biggrin )

Killswitch is still playing up, so I'm not using it currently.

Still on the hunt for a seat/mudguard, also going to do the exhaust again as I'm not happy with it.

Edit: seem's new oil and adjusting the nut at the end of the pushrod sorted the clutch, also now iv'e had the clutch case off and top end off I'm happy with the bottom end.

I bought a box of stainless bolts from eBay a while back. Pretty much built my whole DT up with them. Only engine bolt that's a pain is the pivot through the swing arm.

Are you still planning on selling it? If so I'll try and find a DTR setup and keep the SM set up. Or sell the SM wheels as they're worth some £.

I have pretty much replaced every bolt, yes i do plan on selling soon as I pass my driving test. But that won't be for a month or two so I will get a good use over the summer out of it, already got 190 miles down.

I have a 2 DTR set up's for it and 3 set's of wheels in my hoard lol. When it come's to selling up, It will be finished look's wise (close to mint) then sell it as a SM with the DTR set up spare and hope for 1500+.

I guess I will probably end up selling the other soon after too and getting a mx bike hmm

If you want maximum price, you need to sell up in spring. That's the best time to sell, just before summer. Pick them up nice and cheap all through winter. Then a sudden up on the price in spring. They sell, so it works out.

As for selling your other DT, a few others on here have sold up and regretted it. Although if you're a keen off-roader, than a MX bike is probably more practical.

I swapped the fork's over again today, after noticing the right side seem'd to dive under heavy braking. This made no differance so I checked the headstock, no play here.

Eventually worked my way to the wheel bearing's and after wiping away all the grease, OMG I was in for a surprise. Not too sure how I missed this because I did check the bearing's for play, think I used my finger though not the spindle

Moral of the story some people shouldn't be allowed to touch bike's, because of their low moral's/IQ. It's 17mm bore and the spindle is obviously 15mm, the speedo side bearing is 15mm bore so no excuse really just plain crazyness.

Hmm, I think Toy just put them straight on with his DTR spindle.

If you got a DTR setup with them, the DTR bearings are identical (I think)

You noticed under heavy breaking with the front. I mostly used the rear over the front you only noticed when you used the spindle in the bearing. when i would fit the wheels I used to check for free play in the bearing with my finger would never of looked for the wrong size bearing as I would never of imagend it to be wrong and when it was fitted on the bike it would not have any free play been throw 2 mots with that wheel on and was not noticeable, when you checked it and as you said only under heavy breaking. If I knew I would of not riden it so stfu your bitching is pissing me off now. You came to view it and I said have ago even when you wasn't going to so you was 100% happy with the bike. I told you everything I could think of from the top of my head and the bikes hole history is on hear includeing videos of me fliping and photos of thr bike on one wheel. You knew it had a hard life.

Some of the suprices you have had are suprices to me aswell and if I knew I would not have sold it until they wear sorted.

You rode on it for 2 year's and admit to changing it over multiple time's, you're an idiot end of story it's not up for debate. Took me one press of the Front brake to know something wasn't right, I suggest you stop posting on my thread before I get really mad.

p.s you have so many spelling mistake's, it's almost as bad as your mechanical skill's.
