It fit's with the DTR spacer's, so must have a DTR hub spacer. Pretty sure Yamaha don't sell bike's with different size bearing's either, have you actually lost the plot?
I'm assuming the DTX has a 17mm spindle because of the 17mm bearing.
I swapped the fork's over again today, after noticing the right side seem'd to dive under heavy braking. This made no differance so I checked the headstock, no play here.
Eventually worked my way to the wheel bearing's and after wiping away all the grease, OMG I was in for a surprise. Not too sure how I missed this because I did check the bearing's for play, think I used my finger though not the spindle
Moral of the story some people shouldn't be allowed to touch bike's, because of their low moral's/IQ. It's 17mm bore and the spindle is obviously 15mm, the speedo side bearing is 15mm bore so no excuse really just plain crazyness.

They have diffrent spacers and bearings then each other
This is for the spindle shows yamaha used it for many a bike includeing dtr and dtx
Number 7 is the disk side spacer and I know it slides into the seal im not sure but have you tried tp slide that into that side to see if that fills up that gap.

The differant bearing's for the wheel on the website is because the external diameter is different. I only have the DTR spacer's so if it slid in this would move the wheel across 13mm messing up brake alignment.
So it's looking like a case of wrong spacer. I guess thanks for looking even if it is 2 years late
It had dtr spacers on the offroad wheel 1 spacer and speedo drive thats for the 21 inch front wheel and the sm wheels on the bike had a shortend dtx spacer for disk side and dtx speedo drive that I had fitted to dtr forks because they are longer and harder. My fat arse poped the dtx fork seals so i stoped useing them.
Someone else might need to check this but that spacer might slide in between the spindle and bearing i never felt any noticeable freeplay what so ever you have striped it down you might of misslayed the correct spacer and fitted the wrong one causeing you to have freeplay.
I never experienced anything bad with the front wheel other then it washing out once in the 2 yearsish I had it and I just put that down to a old crap tyre with me trying to get my knee down.
I dont want name calling or blameing of stuff because I want to keep in touch to see how my dt is doing and when I get my lose of earnings from my crash ill happily buy it back for evry penny it owes you because I miss it and wish I just layed it up in my shed to sort out when I have money. I only sold it to buy a cruiser for my leg as my twin vibrates to much and causes me issue. I ended up with a 32 year old bike and no cash what so ever in my pocket so it's not like I sold it to make messga money I didnt make any money onit what so ever. Paid 750 for it then 250 ish for the sm setup plus you had all the Spears I had bought over the years.
Corned as if the tyre was **** certainly didnt feel as if it had 2mm of free play.
There was spear spacers for dtr wheels in the boxes. Stick a photo of the spacer your useing up and ill say if its the correct one. Should be skinny with a steped down part about 15mmish from the end. Dtr spacer is one size with a kinda metal skirt that sits over the seal
The tyre's are fine stop trying to shift blame lol. You helped me take the wheel off, the spacer went on the spindle and straight in the blue box you gave me. I will check that box in the morning just in case, if I find this spacer I will happily apologize

I don't see how bickering or getting angry over it helps?
What's done is done, put it down to a lesson. Maybe you should have taken it for a test ride. I don't buy any bikes without a test ride first. Been shafted that way before...
I am very sorry to ToySoildier, I've just checked the bluebox of misc he gave me and have found said ground down spacer. So this one has been my own doing.
Please feel free to put me in my place, I guess I still need a new one though to fit DTX fork's.
Ill be honest mate last night I was rageing. More at myself on how I could of missed it. Spent a good 2 hours on researching it to find bearing sizes trying to find photos of spacers if anyone else has had the problem and so on. I still dont get why yamaha has done it this way I have never seen a spacer slide inbetween the spindle and bearing like that before
New spacer turn't up today Lined up it's the same length as the DTR spacer, also got some rear peg's deliverd from Bones
Yeh me either, never seen a spacer on a bearing in my 9 year's of bike's. I guess Yamaha did this probably cause they don't make the wheel's and maybe easier than getting bearing's made up to fit.
Maybe thats why it cornered funny for you TS too short spacer
Did you put that tail tidy on in the end? I remember you saying you had problems with the light working but never said if you put the Acerbis tail tidy on?
If so I hope you have a reflector if it's due a MOT.
Nice one pal. Glad its sorted. The spacer was ground done with the hub is wider on thr sm hub or something cant remember why I did it now but there was a reason
