Is my tuning okay? 06 DT125RE

Hi all,

Just done about 112 miles on my dt and I needed to switch it over to the reserve on the tank as the bike conked out. This has been just under a week since fill up :S Is this okay or is this sort of mileage a littler lower than usual? I'm thinking the bike is running on the rich side!

HELP ME!

tj

Lol.

That's wicked mileage. It's a two stroke not a four stroke. Expect high fuel consumption.

Ive put 7.60 in everyday for past week or so.. just keeps drinking it! I rode too town, was at the ring below where cap screws on, rode 6 or so miles to town an was down by the lump where tanks misshaped where slots onto frame! My tanks not leaking but i must be running way too rich! Explaining why it wont idle :(

The amount of days is irrelevant really. It's miles you want to look at. Fill the tank up, set the trip meter to 0 and run it to reserve. Fill up to the same level and note the miles youve done and the amount of fuel you have to put in to fill it up. Then you can work out your miles to the gallon. I do that everytime i fill up in both car and bike. Means I can keep an eye on fuel useage. Its a good indicator for problems. Although it will vary on your riding style obviously. Spend all your time in the powerband and you useage will go up alot.

Don't forget riding style comes into play a lot of the time. 60 Miles revving it high is actually fair.

I get about 60 miles, but I like hitting the power the majority of the time.
