My bike has just started to develope an erratic idle most of the time its fine but sometimes when I stop for traffic lights ect it will tickover at 2000rpm and sometimes it will drop to 1000rpm it normally ticks over at 1300orpm. My bikes done 29000miles and I've done 25000 of those miles and the carbs never been apart since I've owned it could there be anything worn in there thanks.
Its worth cleaning your carb out mate, undo the bottom of the carb and blow out the jets, this is only a suggestion not a solution i dont really know but thats my guess, one of the other guys will
I have just found I've lost some coolant it has not gone into the bottom end as the oil level is the same I'm thinking maybe the head gasket may be on its way out but I have not seen any leaks from the side stand area or around the head and If it was leaking in to the cylinder would it not be steamy.
checked your rad and water bottle for any milky white oil ? same as gearbox is it a good color or milky-foggy or whiteish .
other things I would check is as said give the carb a clean its not a hard job - also check and if needed air filter and maybe change spark plug these are all things that should be done at least every couple of month if used a lot .
