Will be totally legal, and as its been restamped with the approval of DVLA its totally legit. Its going to look a little bit iffy just because its not factory stamped.

Quick update, as sum of you already know as ive been posting diffrent topics around the forum and what not... all to do with my YEIS. seems someone thought it would be best to ignore the yamaha engineers best intentions and turn my Yeis booster bottle into a spare spark plug holder. Quality guys the last owner it seems

Anyways... The thing which has taken the most time is just waiting for parts to arrive, as i dont really know what im doing strait off the bat. I have just been reading manuals and tech guides, and as soon as i have done that its allowed me to detected  problems, and then ordered the parts and fixe them. This way is fine if its one or two problems but when you are doing it time after time the postal delays really starts to add up. so updates and such have had to wait as ive been waiting for delivery's :(

Things which I have fixed since the last update are:

*clutch cable

*front brake lever

*back light

*back indicators

*backward loom repair

*front wheel bolt carrier

*battery

*front sidelight wiring

*main head bearing

The bike is now nearly 95% there, Ive just got to fit the new horn, patch up *some-how* the bit between the front pipe and rear silencer as its leaking exhaust and its done!

The front wheel looks a little warped but doesnt effect handling or breaking but is visible when spinning the front wheel ( dunno if I should leave it and risk it for a biscuit as far as the mot goes)

btw I had a little sneaky ride on it today.... I had the biggest smile on my face. I loved it, get it so 8k rpm and it turns into an animal. feels like getting sucked into a blackhole or somthing, felt like the front wheel was going to lift in 3rd :)))

Good lax. Wish mine felt like that haha.

Make sure the clutch cable is oem. Else you'll find yourself replacing that faster than you might expect

I hope so scrim, hmmm reading up on old posts again. Im abit worried about the piston, not that the bike is running like a dog but just because I dont know when it was last changed, what state its in or anything like that. am I being overly cautious or is it somthing i should check before going on the road?

its worth replacing if you have the funds but if you dnt it should be alright as the dt engine is bullet proof for a 2t

Best way to see how the engine is. Something I can do in 15 minutes. Take the exhaust off. Shine a torch up the exhaust port and have a look. A worn piston will be evident however minor tolerances will be impossible to measure. But early signs of piston failure will be shown here. A job I do on a regular basis to make sure things are tickidy boom...literally.

If your disc is warped and it's noticeable by spinning the front wheel, it will fail the MOT.

They checked mine and rear one during my MOT.

Chain alignment is just an advisory if it's out.

I think, but don't take my word for it you get X amount of days to go back for a free re-test. You'll have to ask the station you go to about that though.

tbh its not somthing i can fix, so if it does fail I will just order the wheel and get it done there and then. hahaha im more excited about just riding it there!

They'll charge you labour. It's simple enough to put a new disc on. Order it then a couple of allen bolts, then put the new ones on jobs a good 'un.

Don't forget you need a CBT, insurance etc to ride it there.

the disc is fine, its just the actual wheel :\ dunno how that happened... oh and i fitted my bulbs so all is good except my indicator snapped. was such a "what the ****" moment.. it broke and it didnt even do a single mile on the road. quality eh?

Oxford? Not worth the money they charge for their garbage. Their chains and locks aren't any better. Inferior quality.

But what you can't forget is the price is like this
£5 - Profit.
£5 - Shop / dealership cost.
£3 - VAT tax etc.
£1 Cost to make indicator.

So basically it's something that cost a Pound to make.

hahaha ok guys so ive decided im going to put it in for mot!!!!!!!

I have no horn, no front indicator and a gap between the front pipe and the back. It's fair to say im not optimistic about my chances... but hopefully i can buy alot of that stuff tomorrow. im going to the J&S superstore in Cheshire first thing in the morning. the indicator i can buy, pretty sure i can buy a horn but i have no idea how to fix this exhaust gap??? im thinking plumbers sealant tape?

Pointless mate. Waste of money it WILL fail for not having a horn. My brothers YZ failed because the lights at idle zapped the power for the horn

Im not going to put it thru with out the horn, hope to get that tommorrow. in all honesty, this is my sole means of transport cal. I have done everything i can really do, if it fails i will get the mecanics to fix it up to standard. Im getting tired of cycling 9 miles a day just to get to work so the sooner its fixed the better that is for me.

if it fails and i dont remove it from the station I belive they can fix it and pass it without an extra charge. I have £200 put aside for it so im sure there is nothing more expensive then £200 which will be needed anyhow.

Take all indicators off an tape over indicator switch, there not a legal requirement unless you can buy them then take then off for not worst case.
Halfords sell horns but I used a bicycle battery powered horn, only buzzes but it passes due too being a continuous tone, exhaust rubber if you can get car radiator pipe just jubilee clip it on or jubilee a bean can round it hahaha

Hmm, with that smiley face, I'm suspecting it passed.

Must have a real relaxed MOT station or he slipped him a couple of sleeping pills in his coffee when he wasn't looking haha :)

It failed! lol you guys was right, but in all honesty im happy with how it turned out.

Kinda expected it too! but im happy because the MOT guy was class, he wasnt an arse and literally showed me and told me every step of the bike MOT.. what he's checking, how he's checking it and eveything. was more of a tutorial really.
It only failed on having a bad front wheel bearing... which im told is really cheap to change. (remember how i said it looked like the front wheel was warped a little seems it was the bearings!)

anyways he said I get 30 days to sort it out and come back and he will just test for that and its free. so thats cool beans.

So yeah on the day, I went out and bought some indicators, bulbs, a horn and L plates and sorted most of the problems. for the exhaust leak I went to halfords and asked for a car radiator hose. they didnt sell them, so my next Idea was getting a car exhaust repair kit and doing some surgery to fix the leak. When I was looking at the stupily expensive kits I realized that they all was using aluminum strips in the kits. So I just bought some aluminum sticky tape for £3 and wraped it round the gap between my front pipe and end can. seemed a good fix and I tied both ends of the tape in place with jublie clips! :) job done.

I just left it at the garage and asked the guy to fix it. I know i could have done it, but you have to look after guys like this, he was quality and didnt come up with bull**** reasons for failure so I dont mind sending a little business his way.

Wheel bearing are about 4 quid each an take 5 mins to change but for the sake of the effort lifting the bike and taking the wheel of an then sticking it all back together i cant blame you haha

Hmm exhaust leak? Where the silencer and expansion chamber join? Sounds like you're missing a rubber seal, or yours has perished. One of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DT125-R-1988-03-Exhaust-Tailpipe-Rubber-New-/131074587340
