 I missed this thread!

Scrim don't say that. I really want to see it. I'm sorry I missed this thread I would have commented on it!

That looks filthy!

Whilst I don't want to turn people away, this forum has gone really dormant, might I suggest Yamahaownersclub. That's busy!

Scrim at least upload one pic. Or if it's on your site send me a link :(

I had an air cooled mx. the paint had faded from red to a horrid pinkish . was using a heat gun to strip the paint of the tank when my mate came round and called me a few nice names as there was smoke coming out of the hole where the petrol cap was....live and learn.

The days work has ended up taking a bit longer lol with this that and the other, anyway now there is a days work left. Needs oil and coolant, a new throttle cable, new battery, oil pump bleeding, DT175MX carb re jetting to 125LC spec but up to a 95 main from a standard 80 because it got a brand new full Giannelli system on it and these ran lean back in the day when they were new a lot more on the edge than a DTR. Get these ods and ends done and she's finished all save for a good wash and polish she's a bit grubby. Its got NOS MXA tank and seat covers but I've redone the tank underneath the cover.

The DT with the YZ topend is in boxes, im still collecting little bits for it. Mostly genuine White plastics and decals and an exhaust. I need to give it a mock assembly of just the frame with the engine and YZ carb n airbox in it so I can sort any little brackets out properly and get the battery box on before I paint the frame. The engine was a doddle chewiest things were getting the powervalve cables located properly in the YZ powervalve cover and trimming n drilling the YZ inlet manifold rubber to fit the DTR reedblock.

Its just my hobby lol............

This is what happens when you leave your bike in the back garden under a sheet for around 25 years.......... ! Moss and grass start growing on it.....

New throttle cable is on, waiting on the new battery 5 mins to bleed the oil pump and fill with coolant and she's good to go if my carb doesn't give me any s**t. Never rode one of these for years proper old 2stroke no powervale just a proper 2stroke powerband. Engine has got some compression in it for a 125.

Don't u just love a DT125LC MK1, shes all done and dusted save for the rear reflector bracket and reflector and the mirrors. I keep forgetting to put it on. This thing sounds lovely with a full Giannelli system on it and a slight up on the main jet.

Omg scrim is that the same bike!

That's amazing.

How can you give this up Scrim.

I know it's stressful and expensive. But you're doing the world a favour collecting amd restoring these motors.

It had never ran for well over 20 years and it started with 5 kicks and runs perfect, just a little tweak to the idle screw and that was it.............

So do I mate, went from 99 quid to 1850 straight away. Its usually the the last few minutes when people bid so it will probably stay where its at now for the rest of the week.
