I wouldn't have thought they would ask for proof. There is very little way besides them inspecting it that you could prove it to them even if they did want it. Its just a case of sending off the v5 with the cc number changed.

In this day in age? Engines blow up all the time, do the DVLA really have the time to inspect every vehicle that's had an engine transplant??

I was surprised at first. But it makes sense.

If you register that CRF it wont come back with a model name on the logbook either as to register it you would need to put it down as an enduro for sva test exemption and as they are exempt sva. As its for competition use and they have no type approval number ! No type approval no model name on the logbook. It would just say Honda 2wheel motorcycle...........

You need dating letter stating that its a UK bike imported in by Honda UK with the VAT paid by them, mot, insurance and a completed V55/5 form

Spoke to Honda today it's £30 for the age form and for the tax etc so think I'll be doing it, anyone know how hard it would be to wire up a horn and brake lights without putting a battery in? On another mother got some goodies for the bike, new exhaust turned up only found out when it arrived that it's from a u.s bike as the exhausts are bigger, also got a set of black excel rims with talon hubs

Exhaust before

new exhaust picked a full system up for £55!

new rims

You need a stator plate with a lighting coil to power it and a 12v regulator, if you fit them u might aswell put lights on it

No battery mate. As scrim says just a stator plate. Very very easy job. Done it all in an hour. Cheap too!

I don't know about profit Liam. It is a rabbit hole on stuff like this. Margins are tight for profits

Well at the minute I'm only £330 all in that's bike new exhaust, cdi, and wheels so I've still got a lot of room for profit, pulled it out today whilst I took my shed and fitted and I've gotta say even without the engine or anything it looks brilliant what do you think. Will be getting a red renthal sprocket and gold chain

Well got the crank back yesterday and I've just pulled my finger out and sent my casing off to have some minor repairs done so all going well the engine should be rebuilt this month at some point
