Anyway got the forks and swinging arm primed basecoated and 2K lacquered for this Red one tonight, should have it on a stand with the front end front brake front new fender headlight clocks and new headlight cowl etc on tomorrow hopefully.

Fork seals and swinging arm bushes were all A OK so that was a bonus.

Front end is now on along with the refurbed front brake, new fork gaiter's, new front fender, speedo and rev counter, new ignition switch, ignition coil, front and rear foot pegs, rear rack, registration plate and 99% of the wiring is done. Need a front brake light switch before I can fit the headlight and new cowl.

P.S thanks to Victor for 90% of the Red bodywork and Silver/Grey seatcover for this DT

Its H290 CHA anyone recognise the plate it would have been registered new in Dudley with a HA registration plate and was originally a White bike.

Just waiting for the correct 3MB exhaust to turn up then give it a few coats of barbecue paint, the clutch waterpump and flywheel covers are off now to paint in Rover Gunmetal Grey and the tank needs painting, Audi laser Red is the closest match I can find. Then just the radiator to fit. Waiting on a new chain, headlamp bulb and a new waterpump seal. Might as well fit a new waterpump seal while the casings are off it, then its just oil and coolant and it should fire up touch wood.

Oh forgot need to sort out the rear brake also,

All done now virtually, mint standard 3MB exhaust fitted along with the rear brake, mirrors and chainguard. Just need to repair a small dent in the tank and repaint it, fit the engine covers and put the new chain on when it turns up.

Forgot about the Silver/Grey seat cover needing fitting. Anyway its done now. Chain is on, still have not painted the tank or engine covers but they are all prepped and ready for paint. I've got the gaskets so should be all sorted by the weekend I hope.

No Cal, I have 2 more DTR,s to do that im going to sell on a 97 R reg Pastel Mineral Blue/White and a 2001 X reg im doing as a Hurricane Hannah replica Yellow/Black/White with speedblock decals, he was an MX champ when I was a kid on the Yellow YZ,s look a little like a Kenny Roberts replica but on an off road bike., ive got all the parts to finish them then im done. Then a couple that im keeping for me, an 89 G reg DTR that I bought new and an 81 DT175 that ive had since I was 17. I have 3 old aircooled DT175,s that I don't know if I should sell or not, one is in my living room its been there for about six years and the other 2 are under sheets in the workshop all finished with the DT125LC. Mind you my mates who share the workshop would probably like them gone with me hogging all the space lol. Oh and I still have the Red DTR with a White powder coated frame I got from ebay with no engine, mind you its mint and doesn't need restoring as such it just needs an engine and all lights wiring etc to make a nice bike, I could finish it in a day or so if if I had the bits. Mind you its doing no harm and cost next to nothing so it can sit there for a while, probably a few years.

Yeah, its always nice to see someone happy with the bikes, it went to a bloke who had one the same when he was a kid. You guessed it his mate had a Red one...... Its the originality that I like, and that's the hardest to do now getting decals and plastics, no cheap s***e plastics from Portugal or 2bob indicators DEP pipes.

Anyway, the Red one will be finished today hopefully. I painted the tank last night in 2K it looks better than new. I put the engine casings back on filled it with Motul n fitted the rad n filled it with coolant, bled the oilpump. Ile stick the tank on and put some fuel in it today and she should be ready for an MOT if all goes well and it fires up and runs OK.

I had 3 carbs on this thing yesterday that I knew were no good they have been cleaned and stripped down more times than I can remember, had it running but not right. Prices for carbs on ebay are stupid lately, but anyway got a guaranteed good one from a Derbi GPR125 for 40 quid from Germany so fingers crossed that should be it hopefully.

On the bright side it looks good with all the tank seat and panels on.
