Hi there

Thought I might show you all how my little project is going

Since passing my test and have a SV650S for all my hooning needs, theres no rush to finish this bike so Im taking my time and doing things right. Im hoping its ready for summer 2007

Heres some of the details:

> 1990's DT125R
> Bought for 300 pounds
> No history what so ever
> Standard Carb
> Full power CDI

Mods done so far:

> Full engine rebuild
> Stage 3 tune (Head skimmed, Head re-shaped, Exhaust and transfer ports shaped and flowed)
> Standard down pipe de-baffled, DEP silencer
> High tensile allen bolts all round
> Pre 1994 TDR125 Wheels, Brakes and Forks (stainless spokes, Brembo caliper, BT-45 Tyres)
> EMC rear shock
> Chopped seat to flow with aftermarket rear mudguard
> YPVS Servo motor
> Painted and re-conditioned everything
> Home made brass bar-ends and wheel spacers

Mods to do:

> Tidy tail unit
> Cover the seat with something
> DT125X headlamp unit
> Get all the panels re-sprayed

Well I think that covers everything ... So heres some pictures.

Mmmm Shiny...

Hope you find this interesting

Theres still a load to do, little fiddly things

BTW Ive got a spare set of pre 94 TDR forks and wheels exacly the same if any of you want some, all thats missing is the front caliper.

Later.

Matt

Would love to see the seat after it's covered! I was thinking about doing the same thing with mine.

At the moment, I'm trying to fit a YZ125 front end to my '99 DT...

What tyres are you using there?

Winner!

I know the R1 caliper will fit on the 250 forks but have you ever tried it on these? The bolt mount spacing on the caliper is 100mm

Hello mate i want to reshape the seat of my 01 DT whats the best way of doing it and have you found anything to cover it with yet? I really don't like the old school moto X seat that is on the DT R the new seat and plastics on the RE look allot better. That bike looks mint btw!

Im interested in the seat thing too.

I got a new replacment seat cover for my 200r off a guy in New Zealand. I am wondering if it will work now.

After doing a bit of research i would not mind changing the shape of the seat to move my bum a bit further away from the foot pegs. Build up a bit more height in the middle and try and flatten the seat out a bit.

What reshaping are you guys thinking about???
Did you have a cover in mind???

I was wondering if a YZ cover would go anywhere near being right.

Bob.

I was thinking you could just unstaple the cover underneath, peel back to about half way (like where the kink is where you sit), reshape the foam, staple one side of the cover back then stretch the otherside over till its a tight fit and staple in place, add abit of leather glue to the edges to make sure its watertight?

Also where can you buy those aftermarket rear mudguards/tails from, like above^^^....and the Acerbis fork sleeve covers, believe there made out of neoprine (sp) ? They replace the orignal plastic fork gators. All help appreciated :)
