Thanks mate, was just worried i had more ting than ring in my ring ting ting! lol

Anyway i told the lads at the engineers i used to fix my barrel that i would give them a recommendation on here so here it is;

D and G Engineering Ltd
15 Altitude Business Park
The Drift, Nacton Road
Ipswich
IP3 9QN
01473725757
dandgengineering@btconnect.com

They are helpful, friendly, and done a good job for me at a good price.

A great alternative if you live near Ipswich and don't want to go to Seager Engineering, who in my opinion are over priced, over opinionated, and their workmanship is shoddy.

This sounds very similar to the rattle i have, are you saying a re bore and new piston alone fixed it?

Can any of the original posters actually confirm what was causing the rattle noise please as i have the identical sound coming from my project bike.

The rattle coming from my engine was due to the top end, rebore and new piston, now sounding sweet :D

I've just put a new piston in mine, changed nothing else and wasn't making a noise like that before. Now making a noise exactly like that can't understand why, what was actually causing it then?

did u rebore bigger?

normally piston hitting pv drum makes the noise

Never mind, it's because I was told my cylinder had been rebored to 57.00mm, it's actually 57.40mm so piston was too small. Nice of the engineer to let me know he bored it to the wrong size!
