Yeah I know lol, Just been having a look at it now, going to remove the bottom part of the frame that I mentioned and brace it slightly differently as its easier and quicker to just start from scratch. Going to wait until Ive got my WR swing arm until I weld in new mounting points but it'll be held in place by 3 mounts; front, back and head.

Just tried the tank on too... lol, that needs part of the inner skin reshaping as it just comes into contact with the water pump. Once the engines dropped slightly into the fame it wont be as bad.... just have to make sure I give the inside a proper good clean before I cut and weld!

Cant beat a bit of fabrication!

Ok
Had to cut alot of metal out to get this to fit, I still need to notch the frame for the exhaust as its right where the frame splits into two. Also need to notch or possibly remove the two indented tubes of the frame across the bottom so the engine sits lower and that will also allow for the engine to twist upwards slightly so its more level in the frame... other than that its in!

Nice. You've gotta make sure you reinforce the frame if you structural points out.

Why don't you just use a WR frame?

Credit given where credit is due, Yamaha know how to build an engine.

That engine is four valve per cylinder isn't it? It's also liquid cooled.

Now most engines i've seen of this class are usually air cooled and only two valves. The Honda CG for example is air cooled. Not sure how many valves.

tbh, on paper the engine looks pretty good for a 4t 125, now its in the frame Id say its about 10% bigger overall but only weights 4kg more than the 2t. (27kg and 23kg)

Frames at home now so wont be able to test fit until tonight. It'll need some modification to fit. Nah ill just get it laquered... the bike will never see gravel... unless I fall off.

No real benifit on the DT other than looks and its a bit lighter than standard.

Polishing... I do have a full time job btw lol

I was thinking that, polishing the arms and then masking them up and bead blasting the rest.

I dunno. Don't think you'd want to polish it. You'd have I constantly be cleaning it. I'd get it powder coated if that we're me.

Ay up!

That Swing arm looks like it would fit a DT?

Can you get a photo of that with the DT Engine in the middle mate? See if it lines up properly?

Any benefit of that swing arm?

Can you fit a nice light weight swing arm?

I'd be interested in getting thatg WR swingarm on my DT-SM. What are the dimensions between the mounting points and the width overall of that part? If you don't mind NathanH! :)
