Ah ok. If funds would allow a custom pipe would be awesome obviously. My money would be on a DEP i think. Bolting straight on would be a bonus and for looks they cant be beaten imo.

Just been offered a complete 4DL for £480 with fresh bore 3mb P and piston thats not yet been fitted. Im undecided whether to make a TZR350 with it or finish it as a 125 and do the tzr350 at a later date.

Anyhow, it has a jolly moto pipe on at present which has been patched up. I think im gonna go standard pipe so if your interested in the jolly moto NEV, let me know.

Hope you lads all had a good xmas and new year, last few months have been ****e for me due to ill health, but hopefully things are now back on track with the project, have ordered a new DEP full system, so I can get the engine started up and set up right, still trying to put together colour schemes for it before I go and buy new plastics and get the tank re-sprayed, have taken some pics of how it is at the minute, not really much done to be honest but still looks pretty much there, with only a few bits and bobs to do to finish it.

That's incredible mate. Looks really lovely that does.

I'm sorry to hear about you dude. Although I have wondered.

I really want my frame and swinger powdercoated. Looks awesome.

Also mate how did that engine fit? Did you need any mods or was it a straight fit?

Cheers Georgen and Cal, to get the frame and swingarm powdercoated was £110, £80 for frame and £30 for the swingarm, 1st Choice at Exeter does all my stuff for me, Coastie has used them too in the past, always do a top job too! btw the bike stand was an absolute snip off Ebay it was advertised as an ATV/Harley stand, at £54 quid and £6 postage, they all went like hot cakes too, at that price it's no wonder. And Calum, engine went straight in, only struggle has been the 38mm Keihin carb.

Aye cheers Andy, much better now ta, managed to put on the new full DEP system on the bike couple of days ago, that all fits nicely, I've come across another problem though , because I'm using the 4DL TZR quick throttle, and the Keihin carb, I'm needing a custom made throttle cable, just dropped off the carb and throttle casing over to my chap Brian Loram, so he'll crack on with making one for me this week.

Cheers bud, aye it is a nice red that, took the tank in today to get it re-sprayed in just the grey primer for now, as I keep changing my mind on what the plastics and tank colours are going to end up being, the hydrodipping road is pretty much a no goer now as two places have told me , it'll be sort of doable but with all the contours it will look pretty much ****e, due to all the joinings and overlaps so I'm with the idea of either going all red,(plastics and tank) or red tank and graphite grey plastics, or even go with grey carbon graphite vinyl wrapping on tank and plastics. Just don't seem to be able to come up with an idea as yet, I could really do with someone whos pretty handy with photoshop to mock up a few different colour schemes I reckon.

The guy hydrodipping my plastics has told me to get a good cover and no stretching on the transfer he is gonna cover parts, so my tank and rad scoops will have tuning forks and stripes of plain colour and dipped pattern. Mine are being done next month..... Will send ya pics when it's done

I reckon the tank and rad panels have gotta be the same colour. It's such a straight line that i can see it looking out of place. Red and black is a nice combo usually. have a mess about on photoshop and see what tickles your fancy.

Explain to me again why you need to have a throttle cable made up. Is this purely because of your carberetta or is this a problem that I may have to face when it comes to it.

Well calum, it gets rid of the junction box, which I don't need as I premix, so it will be a one piece cable, which my bloke seems to reckon is better, plus as you say either ends need different nipple and adjuster on outer cable type due to both being much different from the standard DT set up, quick throttle at the bars, and the Keihin carb throttle inlet. You may encounter similar problem but depends how the del'orto inlet/ screw lid is, your throttle inlet on the bars will more than likely be a DTR one?

Hhmm yeah. So I may need to investigate its compatability with the VHSA carb. MISSION!

Nah not really lol. Sorry who did you take it to for a new cable. Are they a specialist or will any joey do.

Nah hes just a local bloke to me that can do it, if I were you I'd find a local place to you that knocks out trikes, they'll make you a custom cable if you need one.

Ha ha ha Towie, it looks nicer now with that new DEP on it all shiney, I'm now on the lookout for some TDR Italia wheels (3sh model), same as I put on the Black/Green bike for SM, till I can get the 3 spoked wheels turned out to take the custom bearings I need to use.

Picked up the custom made cable for the 4DL Belgarda quick throttle, and the Keihin carb today, will try and get it fitted sometime this weekend, some snagging work left, but should be able to start her up hopefully pretty soon.

shortens the pull by about a 1/4 turn so it's less strain on your wrist in laymans terms
