Got the gasket sorted out thanks bradderz!. Tomorrow is the big day. I had a sneak flick of the ignition and it cycled nicely, of to the petrol station for a fresh can of fuel after I have fitted the DEP. 6 months coming down to this moment lol.

You've put an impressive amount of work in here fella, well impressed. Did you say you took loads of photos when taking the gearbox out? I've got my engine back from my engineer and the box is knackered so I'm gonna replace it, although I didn't take the engine apart so only have it back now in bits. :\ if you have the photos would you mind sharing? So I have a rough idea of what goes where. Cheers :)

IT's ALIVE!!!!!!!

After a stressful couple of days she's purring like a kitten.

It wasn't starting and when it did it was reving at 6k and I was having to hit the kill switch great stuff for a brand new engine just what the doctor ordered.

Found out the reason, remember I said yamaha wouldn't sell me a gasket wanting me to buy a new carb? a tiny bit of my sealent is catching on the slide in the carb, so I pushed down and it's idleing nicely, Thanks Yamaha you really know how to care for your customers and my brand new top end, and brand new bearings..

Heres some pics of the new pipe, sounds really nice cause before it never even had an exaust gasket I found out lol,

A fair bit of tinkering to do so it's perfect for the road, and still waiting on my painted plastics coming back from spain.

Don't worry Bout an idling engine at 6k on new bearings. It's not under any load so it won't do it any harm. It's only when you put the bearings under strain I.e. doing 30 mile an hour in second gear ramping the tots off it that you're going to cause damage. But just the engine running with no one riding it and it idling at 6k for 30 seconds isn't going to cause it any harm.

Well I got a text that made my day.

My mate when he hasn't been busy spray painting Bentley panels and Ferrari wheels in Marbella whilst setting up a new garage I might add, he had the prestigious task of spraying my DT panels lol. They are getting sent home tomorrow and as I totally expected of him they look fecking mintbiggrin So hopefully you have eventually signed up and reading this mate cause I can't thank you enough for helping me finish of the bike properly.

Nicely drying in the Spanish sun, wouldn't do much drying here I tell ya.

Looks good that does

If you could mate, Ask him how much he would charge one of us to get our panels done when you next speak to him please

Also how much was delivery to get it to and from Spain mate for you??

I wouldn't mind getting my panels sprayed in the next couple of months if I knew the paint would last

Probably said it before but you made that nice your DTX, from what it was to what is now I'm impressed

Thanks Reef He is having problems signing up the now but if you have facebook just message him there, if not hopefully he will be authorized soon,

I piggy backed my plastic's down with some equipment and I don't have a final price for return yet,

I think if he was going to do some sort of service the person would do the sanding prior, but I am not sure mate.

Looking great slob.. It's good to see. Can't believe how far the bike has come since I was last stood in your freezing garage in December..( for those of that don't know him, he don't get called slob for no reason) jks.

Can't wait to see the plastics on the bike.. They left today so should be with you soon.:)
For those of you asking how much I would charge , its hard to say.. The only real reason this was viable for slob was I got him to throw them in with a large delivery coming from Scotland so he didnt have to pay to get them here to Spain. I then sanded and painted all the plastics in my off time.
Costing 65 to get them home(edinburgh) with a tracking number so by the time you do that twice(here and back) and pay for my service, I just don't think it's viable to do so for the rest of you. Be better going to a reputable body shop where you are. By all means , if someone really wants me to do it, pm me and ill talk it over with you.
Look forward to seeing the bike on the road in all its glory with some pretty special black plastics on show. :)

Take a look at my website people

or to see my work go to my Facebook page and click the photos tab and look through the albums http://m.facebook.com/pages/WheelFixItSpaincom/171391942914611?id=171391942914611&_rdr

.. Hopefully see you soon pal.thanks for the kind words.

Hope I didn't give you too much of a scare turning up in the work motor! Where did you get the clear tubes for your carb from? Just in the process of sorting mine out.

Ha ha, not one bit b If I had just filtered my way home on the DT I would have hid under the bed lol.

Heres a link of the stuff I got.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261185206605

4mm is the stuff you want, I am going to have to get some stuff for my fuel line cause I bought the same stuff in 6mm but it's no good it;s to soft and flexi and kinks coming of the fuel tank.

I will be going up to pentland powdercoating with my tank soon to get repaired, would be great if you were going to give me that other tank so I can have a white one and a black one, also if you have anything needing powder coated I can get good rates.

No bother, I can drop the tank off along with the other bits and get it all done in a one-er. Nightshift this week coming so could pop round before I start one night?

Yeah that would be good I move to my new place on wed's but that is just over in Caistayne but I will still be here till then.

The more I go with the more the price drops, just make sure you label the stuff what colour you want it lol. And hopefully the main man is there to, cause he gives me my price when I drop it off, he's been there every time so far so it should be all good.
