That's not how I would run a bore in! This heat cycle idea sounds bull. I've never heard it before this website. Only for petrol remote control cars have I heard these cycles.

Personally if It were me I would run it in like running a brand new engine in.

Using low grade mineral oils. Run 1/4 throttle for the first 100 miles. 1/2 throttle for the next 200 miles.

nd for the final 200 miles 3/4 throttle avoiding prolonged use at high rpms. Then once that's done revert back to fully synthetic.

Everyone seems to have there own methods even if you search the net as all of you proberly know you will read different methods. Some methods are and seem conflicting

This is a method I use It`s been tryed & tested over & over and has never caused any problems whatsoever. This method can be used to a freshly rebuilt engine aswell & you don`t have to do 500miles either

1) A nice gentle warm up get the engine up to temp then let it cool down completely

2) Re-torque the head & barrel nuts

3) Do a few more heat cycles

4) You can then open her up with hitting powerbands
(JUST AS LONG AS YOU DON`T SCREAM THE TITS OFF HER STRAIGHT AWAY)
Just go through the gears but keep the load on the engine light going at speeds of 50 mph
in top gear keep the engine reving freely

Not wanting to piss on your fireworks Danny, and I don't know how you are funds wise, but I guarantee if you swap that 3BN head, for a 3MD one, before you put it all back together, you'll have much better performance, as the squish band on the 3bn acts as a restriction.

you can take them off and fit a normal bolt into the head and remove the pipes if u need it running quickly, just make sure its the same length and thread type bolt
