it looked alright, but up close, it looked poorly looked after, plastics fading, stickers peeling etc.. i thought i like the bike and i may aswell mod it to my own personal taste! :D
first things first, the stator cover was dented and paint was falling off, so got that replaced.
and after replacing..
since all the plastics were fading and stickers peeling etc, i started to change the look of the entire bike, i got the tank powdercoated black and ordered brand new black front panels along with a white polisport headlight to give it that 2012 look all the new bikes are getting lol
i then fitted 2 new diablo rosso ii tyres :) and put the bike back together
-----------------------------
SHORTLY AFTER, the bike decided to give up on me and wouldnt idle or run right... with 24k on the clock i suspected a full rebuild would be needed.
i dipped the carb into my friends 6L ultrasonic cleaner just to see if it would help, but sadly, it didnt.
so i thought about it for a while and NORFE offered to rebuild my engine for a decent price, so i started to drop the engine out..
GOT IT OUT FINALLY, then cleaned it up a little bit so its not so dirty when he goes to rebuild it :)
THEN all the engine bits arrived and they werent cheap tbh when your replacing everything in the engine.
and thats where i am at the moment, i sent the engine off to NORFE earlier and cant wait to get it back :)
...
this is my attempt of applying vinyls to a rear fender, dont know if itll look any good on the bike

Not the cheapest of games aye Tom replaceing all new bits on the engine but when it comes back it will be a brand new engine just old caseing like mine two thumbs fresh mate
wow, top job on this. Ever thought about removing the clocks so the Polisport sit flush? I hacked all siht away from under there it did my head in.
Or just lower the clocks so they sit as low as possible. Shouldnt be too hard using a few washers and longer bolts. And just extend the clocks out slightly to give you the room. I don't know though. Prefer the look of the RE light so wouldnt replace.
got my stuff back from the powdercoaters.. the swinger bearings have sand in them so theyll deffo need changing... this hopefully wont be alot of effort -.-
here is a quick look at some of the stuff.. the purple bits are candy purple, the black is just regular gloss black and the swinger is dark grey with a glitter covered lacquer :) looks pretty good, photos dont do it justice and apart from the little bit of sand in the bearings (which i expected) theyve done a perfect job
put my new swinger bearings in and then spent all day in the garage today. got the engine back from NORFE, whacked it in, couldnt get it to run right, but i suspect my reeds and my jetting is a tad off.
Looking awsome mate. I am back on mines tomorrow after three weeks, rekon it has been the throttle tube not having enough clearnce on the powdercoated handlebars causing it to jam the slide half open.
i got the swinger on. wheel on. bike 99% built up. just needs tweaking abit in the carb now i think as it bogs abit, my air screw is siezed so a new carb/carb bit should fix me and get me completed :D
Lookin very tidy indeed mate! You gunna spray the headlight black too? Thats the only thing that looks a bit off imo! Decal kit will set the bike off big shtyle!
i blew my dt up ... but i fixed it.... Then i crashed it.... but i didnt fix it right and 2 scouser's come in the middle of the night and left me with a working bike
