Danny for fck sake. What good is this forum if you don't use it. A simple ask is this about right. I would have replied in minutes. He's having a laugh. I got a crank rebuilt by Yamaha for £25. And they filed down the con rod to fit. And placed it in some special formula 1 tech vibrating thingy.

Wow mate i hope they do an amazing job

I hate to say it but i think most mechanics are c***ts

Will rob anyone they can, which is why so many of us

stopped handing over our money to these lazy con merchants

and invested in tools

i have told you constantly to via Grampian so lets hope your decision pays off pal!

they cost is far too much though..you would have expected rebore as well for that price! and Grampian do it for you there whilst waiting :p

Meh. Yes and no. They're business men. They're there to make money. As said. £25 for a crank rebuild plus modifying the con rod. Very pleased. £35 for rebore. Both done at Yamaha. I'm very pleased.

But I go in there and assert myself to say. Look you ain't gunna take me for a mug. I know what i'm doing (that's what i tell them)

Right guys new problem :/ shes running great at idle but after about a min or 2 of riding she starts to bog out like theres no power what so ever and if i open the throttle she dies ive took the carb off all looked fine ive checked for air leaks and nothing and ive changed the plug twice, any ideas on what it could be ? (mind you i did have this problem when trying to pre mix it and solved it by putting more fuel in but i have fresh fuel in now)

the piston was originally scored, which would mean the barrel was too..did you get it rebored like we advised you or have you just put old piston back in?

The score wasn't bad i couldn't feel it, but the bike sometimes has loads of power and compression and its flys then its bogs out i think i blocked the carb

think we have found another stillbroke!!! lol

you keep fixing things on the cheap..not listening to sound advice and going to cowboys...think you seriously need to get rid of your bike pal because its a money pit for you.

Not sure what other help i can give or others?? sell it whilst its running- but not at silly price it was before then start again properly

so you guys think it is the piston ? im not selling up i dont give up this easy i want it to work and i dont think it is the piston because it can run fine for a while then play up and then when i stop it and start it again it will run fine for another 10 mins

right PM your number again and address again- i shall see if available for couple hrs on weds..not promising anything-if not then might be weekend. mean time if you think carb related- get it removed- stripped and get airline blowing through jets, then make sure filter isnt blocked on the carb inlet

The piston had scoring, cant really tell how severe but obviously an issue there- have you set the oil pump correctly?
