Ha ha tell me about it mate. If someone could have seen my face when I rode to the end of the street going through the gears, that's when I knew I had finally acheived my goal at last, the gears are just so smooth compared to how they were.
Thanks again mate. Yeah I am proud cause its all my own work with just the help of you guys on the forum. Before I was someone that would go to a dealer for a fork seal replacement ect rather than get stuck in, can safely say that has changed.
Decal wise the pain is so nice it would be a shame to cover it. It does need something to finish of though. I was maybe thinking the oem DT125x red sticker for the rear panels. Do you know the ones I mean. Can't find them anywhere though.
Stickers protect it from scratches etc.
Saying that, my original ones were all starting to peel and fade, so off they went.
Originals would like nice, but heard from of the prices on the DTR models. £60 for the rad covers IIRC.
That paint! Looks god damb sexy! Haha;)
Glad it's finally up and running mate. I'm sure it was all worth it.. Agreed on some stickers/decals could finish it off nicely, but I'm glad to hear you say the paint is to good to cover..lmao.. Nice to hear. Any way mate I might be coming back to the burgha for a weak or two soon so hopefully I can get a wee ride on it and see it for my self. Thumbsup to you pal. Speak soon.

Yeah cheers mate bike wouldn't be the same without those panels, how come you are coming over? The bike sailed through it's MOT today so it's properly on the road now.
Just trying to run it in and I need to set up the powervalve properly, and then I can really enjoy it, Typical after Scotlands first ever heat wave I had to drive around in the rain and get the bike dirty!
Yeah cheers cal. The right graphics like how the swinger is would be the cherry on top but I just don't seem to have the inspiration in my head for it yet if you get me,
I do think some OEM red DT125 X graphics would be really good if I could find them, or some random graphics used nicely a bit of white ect but not seen any, should start searching on ebay.
Unfortunately not for pleasure but business so will be busy. I have to go Glasgow and also to go see Peter and the boys at pentland powder centre.. It would be good to get some really good pics for Peter seeing there Isn't many bikes in the country that are 100% powdercoated, good for his gallery ect since they were so good to me.
Did Pentland Powder Coating do your spokes? Need to finally get mine done and am thinking black rims, orange hubs and white spokes. Spoke to them about it ages ago and they didn't seem too confident about being able to do the spokes on there own.
They done the whole wheel in one go as a complete unit.
They just couldn't balance the wheel, had to go else where for that. But they managed to get the tyre back on and off fine. They weren't to keen at first but one of them said he would give it a crack like my engine lol.
Obviously the down side is I can't tighten my spokes cause it will just crack the coating so I made sure they were tightened up before hand.
Cheers smurf. Are you doing black with white writing? Operation powdercoat has been 100% successfull on the engine.
No heat damage around the exhaust port whatsoever. Which was one of the concerns.
For anyone thinking of doing it. My only recommendation is make sure the coater knows how to mask properly and when you get the items back, jet wash them to high heaven especially down the holes where the reed block bolts on ect to remove all the blasting sand. You don't want sand in your engine lol!
When powdercoating, I always find it's easier to plug all the threads with old bolts, and large penny washers with bolts through for any 'tubing' such as the yokes, steering tube on the frame, or swingarm tube.
