The only reason they put the cable choke on was because of where the carb is on the 4dl. You need to be able to look around corners just to see the damn thing lol.

Yeah I can appreciate that. Obviously you've got fairing and what not. But don't need that on the dt.

So it's nice to know I can swap it over.

ONLY THE TOPEND LEFT! Gunna be sick!

Yeah was just saying it can be swapped back to the original design. I wont be ever using it. I'll be having the TM32SS carbs from an RG250 on my 350 engine inside it :) I suppose i may have to mod it for those in some way lol! Doubt ill be able to reach it.

Yeah it's anothing thing ticked off the list.

I've got some snazzy upgrades coming to my bike in the next couple of weeks. It's going to need custom parts machined up and will be really sexy. I'm very excited about it but am keeping it a secret until it is finished. Then of course I will update my project thread.

Very excited though.

Something I'm going to do down the line. After spending a few hours today scoping it out it's definitely doable but best results will be if I work from the ground up.

So I'm going to wait until I don't ride the bike everyday. And when the bike has been powdercoated I'll look to have some brackets made up and work on it from there.

Whether or not these radiators are suitable or not is again another question.

Twin radiators do look nice, but if the engine wasn't designed for such a large surface area exposed to the air, it could have detremental effect, i.e over cooling the engine....

Right. But if you read the title of the thread then you'd realise it's not for a dt engine. It's for a TZR 4DL engine. Where thry have a great big whopping radiator on the front the dt only has a puney one. And the dt runs relatively hot anyway. In the summer it's at like 80+. Had over 100 in traffic.

And in the the winter it runs at 50 degrees. So it's actually designed to run at a big variety of engine temperatures. And an extra radiator would only see 5-10 degree change. And compare that to the change from summer to winter. It's relatively small.

I actually had read the title and was talking about the TZR engine but i've not seen one in person so I'm unsure of the physical size of the rad.

I wasn't telling you what and what not to do, it was merely a statement that may have been helpful.

Ah ryt fair enough. I always welcome advise and help it just seemed a bit off since the dt radiator is small compared to the TZR rad.

Thanks all the same though.

Remember there's always a bit of fairing on the TZR whereas the DT is quite open in comparison cooling down the engine more, therefore a smaller rad. I would have thought anyroad.

If it's anything like the aprilia then I doubt it. The rad on my dt is styfled by the forks, shroud and frame. The aprilia's radiator has a huge radiator spanning the width of the bike with the fairing actually channeling the air into it.

Having something made up for my project. The guy emailed me saying he should have it made by next Friday and the shipped over to me. So I'd expect something in a fortnights time. Then I still need something else before it's complete.

It's a marmite thing. People are either going to love it or hate it.

Watch this space though....(I don't want to give it away just yet)

Well it wants a lot of work and I'll crack on with that idea when I powdercoat the frame. From there I can build it from the ground up and reroute things as and where I need them.

But no this other mod I'm hoping is going to be tastey. ETA 9 days :D

Was wondering why i've never seen this thread before, moving to projects as this is the kind of thing people love to see!

I've already got a project thread Seiki. I transfer all my work into the project thread but I update it on page one. So you can read it from start to finish in one page instead of scrolling through it all.

But yeah I agree this has become a project in its own right. But when I opened it it was just for the tzr bottom end.

Nice Calcify, as you know I have done a fair bit of research on TZR exhausts, there were 3 types for the 4dl 4DL1, 4DL2 and 4DL3, now not wanting to piss on your fireworks the best one out the 3 was the 4dl3, and that one had a fook off long stinger, that one looks quite short to me. It should still be fairly good mind you.

Unfortunately this exhaust was hand made and is based on a DTRE/X engine. I can't imagine it being as good as say an Arrow system on the Aprilia RS which too has a long stinger.

But at the end of the day this pipe cost me £131 plus £30 shipping to have made. So I'm not going to be too upset if it isn't as fast as a arrow system.

The guy reckons it's really good with dyno readings that support his claims. (Can upload all that if interested). I only hope it's better than the DEP. if it is then that's good enough for me.

If It's not. Well then... I don't know maybe i'll keep it just for style alone

Have you offered it up to the bike yet? as that underslung TZR exhaust I've got runs away from the DTR frame, I chopped it at the middle so as to rotate it slightly back towards the frame, then welded it back up again.

I haven't got it yet. That's a photo he took and uploaded.

I don't know NEV. i need to weld a little bit on the end to mount the end can. So if needs welding that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I ran that 3mb00p cylinder for a while and the DEP didn't fit properly. How different is that 4DL bottom end mate. It's not something I've really taken into considerations.

I dunno Enny the rs seems to fly. I have some gopro footage of the rs too. Dt never stood a chance mate. Kyle even stayed in front of a Honda civic type r ep 3. 200+ bhp car. Dt doesn't even keep up with kyles van let alone his civic.
