Hi guys, how would i test the CDI unit to see if it has a problem? I dont really wanna spend stupid amounts on a cdi if its no the problem. bike has a spark, it's getting fuel, but no fireing. thats the only thing I can think of CDI. (it has compression, engine is good).

i didint realise how rare cdi units were ive been looking for the model that mounts on the back of the oil tank.absaloutely no joy what so ever!. just one on ebay for £75!!! and i need it so bad!..probaly would be cheaper to change my bloody wiring loom! lol... GUTTED!...

Is there a wire that you can cut on a 2002 and 2000 model dtr on the cdi unit to de restrict it? mine tops out at 10,000RPM at 80/85mph. and to about 9,000rpm in 3rd,4th 5th gear, 6th gear is 10,000rpm. I've looked for a 1996 cdi unit, but cannot find it anywhere on the internet!
